1LE outruns ZL-1's
I outran my 2nd ZL1 today in my 2014 1LE.
The first was at the Texas Mile. I turned in a slightly higher MPH than the new paper tagged ZL1. At the time, I just assumed he was taking it easy on his new car. Today, I made 4 runs with a ZL1 from around 60 mph, all the way to 165. In each event, I pulled the ZL1; albeit very slightly. My 2014 1LE has almost 40K miles, and is a daily driver. It’s got a few bolt-ones, but nothing more than long tubes, high flow cats, CAI, and a computer tune. I’ve been really surprised both times. Mustang Dyno computes my HP at 517. So I’m not sure why I’ve outrun these two Zl1’s, but it certainly happened! Any similar experiences?

You have 517 estimated at crank, or is that confirmed at the wheels?

That is a bit odd , but I haven't had any issues with any 1LE's in this neck of the woods.
I wonder if they were auto's . |

Bad drivers make a big difference...there really is no other reason why a 1LE should beat a ZL1.

Keep in mind a 250lb weight difference. That will allow you to run even with them with a bit less power.

I'd say driver could easily be the cause.

I know just how you feel. Last week I totally smoked a 2015 ZO6 at the track. He could stick with me a little in the corners, but I would just walk away from him on the straights........... Then I woke up, I had to pee!

If he was an auto then he might be putting down what 470-490? I think I did the calculation once where with the weight of our cars 500 pounds is about 50 or so hp. So for 250 lets just say 20 hp to be very conservative.
so zl1 450-470 whp The 1le ls3 with bolt ons and even a canned tuned 400-440 whp Now add in the gearing and timing of two different people hitting gas peddle and it makes sense in theory.
