Take a look through the thread and you'll see plenty of disputable info, along with others offering equally disputable retorts.

I read the thread .. i thought it was interesting to see how ppl feel about v8s..
but as times changes laws will change and things will change..
Low milage cars like hummers were stopped importing in saudi even though it is an oil rich country.. years ago..

Not disagreeing with you about "times-a-changin'," but I do not believe we'll be without a V8 in the 6th gen.

Its true...all of it.
Is it really necessary to be such a douche all of the time? I agree with the underlying point, but there's a much better way to get it across.

true may be not 6th gen.. i hope 6th gen looks more like a concept with drastic changes like the 5thgen.. I really want to see a hybrid camaro in the future so that the american muscle stays for ever !

rumors run rampant on the internet...

that said, i can easily see the government enforcing certain fuel standards for cars as their way of saying 'see, we care about the environment' - it's an easy way for them to 'show they care', but we all know they don't. there's a reason these big car businesses got 'bailed out', it's the revolving door of corporatism and government, where CEO's butt**** politicians and vice versa, giving each other monetary benefits - IE bailouts, contracts, tax breaks, you name it.

although I like my v6 camaro, I'd also like to have a V8... but then I'd also like to have a V12 Lamborghini. In the end...they're just cars/toys. i can understand the argument for better mileage/less harm to the environment, but i can also understand the counter-argument that making up these simple laws not based on fact won't get us far, IE 'FUEL ECONOMY MUST BE XX MPG'...why? to save people money? if you look at the issue at it's core, if this world truly was free and companies existed and created products to better the human race and constantly improve technology RATHER than push planned obsolescence, we would have VERY efficient and VERY powerful transportation vehicles that would literally destroy every 'sports car' out there. if Nicola Tesla's technology wasn't seized by the military industrial complex and people had 40-50+ years to expound on that technology in a truly free society, we'd have free energy and technology that would far surpass anything we can even THINK of...

I look forward to when electrics and stuff actually become available and sporty, and reasonable. Their acceleration is gonna be nutz, but the top speeds all questionable from what I have seen and heard. To have a perfectly quiet car go against a rumbling noise V8+ is gonna be fun. Motorheads/gearheads/electroheads?

My favorite past-time is political discourse; not in the sense of supporting one candidate or policy versus another, but rather how absurd, unlawful, inconsiderate, inhumane, inefficient and simply idiotic the entire "system" is.
