BANG OVER BUMP

So now my car started going bang over some bumps ( but not all ) . I guess it was inevitable . I very carefully inspected the front struts/shocks and everything looks good tight and dry as a bone . Car still handles and rides as it always has .

Common issue with the 1LE struts... Check out some of the other threads in this forum. If you're still under warranty you can get them replaced.

I believe i had the same issue, on unload it made that horrible sound. It wasn't correctly diagnosed til they took it off and manually moved the unit and found the problem.

I also had the issue when the front suspension unloaded during right hand turns, off camber. Hasn't happened in quite a while, mainly since I changed out to CO's. I don't think it's a detrimental issue, more a nuisance.

Yea ,is not on the compression stroke .It only happens on the decompression stroke some times . And it is very annoying . Going to change to the B6's. Car only has 10000 miles on it ,but don't want the dealer monkeying with it .And the only one who wrenches on my cars is me ,been that way for 50 years . I have the know how /skills my own shop with 3 lifts and any tool I may need .

Smart choice, I was going to recommend getting the B6's but figured you would have GM replace the struts. Since you will be in there, might as well change out the springs too??? The DSE's and BMR's go real nice with the B6's.

Cant fault the handling of the stock springs ,just going to install the B6 shocks . I don't want to lower the car . I'm going to find out how the B6's work with the stock rear Chevy shocks ,hope it won't screw up the handling and force me to change the rear shocks too.

Generally stiffening up the rear of these cars is what helps the handling on these cars. they tend to under steer so stiffening up the rear helps relieve that issue. Hopefully the B6s dont stiffen things up in the front too much more than the stock shocks.

I had the same problem. I went with the Monroe OEM struts and stock springs. The car still almost hits 1G on the street.
