Can't Decide 2010-2011
Hi Guys ,
I'm planning on getting a used Camaro 2SS , but I am wondering which one to get considering the price difference . A 2010 Camaro 2SS or a 2011 Camaro 2SS with a price difference of around 3K for the 2011 model . So beside the HUD , is it worth getting a 2011 and paying the extra 3K ?? Assuming that mileage is not an issue [ since I can find 2010 with low mileage ].

Really the only difference between 2010 and 2011 is the HUD, or only difference that I can think of anyway.

If you can swing the extra 3K...having a year newer is always nicer.

Thank you guys for the quick replies
i was thinking the same thing of having a 2011 instead of 2010 .... but then i keep thinking that i can get probably an exhaust setup for 3K !!! so if its just a HUD , maybe i can live without it and instead hear a nice exhaust note every time i start the car

I'm in the same situation. I have a nice 2010 2SS RS I'm very close to trading up for but I have been thinking about the HUD, I feel like I'm better off not even driving one with it so I dont know what I'm missing out on lol

I do believe you can have the HUD installed on a 2010 though, not sure the cost of that though, I know there is a thread for it

The HUD is neat/cool but honestly you won't miss it if you never had it. I don't even pay attention to it most of the time. It's one of those amenities where you shouldn't lose sleep over it if your car doesn't have it. If HUD is the only difference, then the 3k premium isn't worth it unless you have to have a 1-year newer Camaro.

You could get the 2010 and always install the HUD and then you would have more money to mod

My opinion....get what you can afford COMFORTABLY.
Heck, I didn't seek to get a 2012 SS...it just kinda happened because I got a great deal on it that put it in the used 2011 SS price range. Nothing wrong with a 2010 unless, as others have said, you have to have the HUD. My '12 doesn't have the HUD...and I don't miss it one bit even after driving a few Corvettes that have it. It's cool....but not thousands of dollars worth of cool. Especially since you can always add it later if you really, really want it. |

Will i really dont think that a HUD really worth the 3K im going to pay for it .
But the 3K is worth it because i might be getting a 2011 instead of 2010 , and having a one year newer car is somthing to consider . Im still doing my search , and finalizing my bank financing , once i buy the car i will post few pics for it . In the mean time i will be asking tons of questions regarding my new family member The CAMARO

HUD is really the only difference. LIke others said, if HUD is something you have to have the spend the money. Otherwise you can add it later for around $500 and 10hrs of work. I've been on the fence about adding it to my 2010 but I'm afraid that a year so after putting it in I won't care about it anymore.
Personally....I would spend the $3k on modding the car. You can get headers/tune/exhaust for a lot less than $3k. That'll leave you more money to do other mods with.
