Zl1 /Emotional??

Hey fellas as we are all here waiting for the new and baddest camaro.

I had some thoughts which for me is always very important to me and i believe its important to many car guys.

So here goes do you feel the Zl1 will give a emotional driving feel
were you just cant get out of the car because its just so good..
The reason i say this is because as stated here in other posts
that i have a Nissan GTR and after 2 years of ownership im just not feeling this car.....Dont get me wrong its a bad ass car... blistering fast ...but at the end of the day i dont track the car and the dual clutch paddles is getting old
plus the suspension purely stinks so stiff its a joke.So getting back
to the camaro Zl1 i know it has magnetic suspension which is A+ in my book and
since i have test driven ZR1 And R8 v10 Spyder which these cars truly
are amazing in all categories plus they also have magnetic suspension .
Do you feel the Zl1 will be just a all out track weapon or will be a good all around car and it stirs the emotions?

Fellas i hope this makes sense ...and all thoughts would appreciated.

.

I tend to drive on roads that are curvier than the girls at Hooters, so the incredible road course handling will have me UltraGrinning from point A to point B.

Also, I have always loved Camaro, so knowing I finally have one, and it's the MacDaddy of all Camaros, is beyond awesome.

Now I can die happy. (OK, not now, but someday.)

I wish I could figure a way to keep all three cars. It would be cool to have the LT, SS, and ZL1 but I,m afraid I would end up payment poor. At this time we plan on keeping the SS as or grocery getter.

I'M all on board with Scarrzz' opinion. I also am very happy to be getting a Camaro in the current platform that provides the conditions for a quieter roomier ride with superpower on tap. And, looks that will transcend generations.

To the OP... I mentioned somewhere in a thread somewhere to the effect of "what are you doing when you get your ZL1" that I plan on sleeping in mine...
I have it bad for sure....
Hope this car will be everything I hope it to be and more...
and I even hope I can pay it off in cash.... just "keepin the faith here"

My .02 is good all around car. The third gen magnetic ride finally sound like they got it right with five settings.

I think it will be funner to drive if you get the manual but probably harder to drive at the limit as 580hp rwd almost has to be.

Gtr has always been love hate with me. I was thinking about one when i bought my z06. Love the performance the car brings but I am just a rwd, manually tranny guy so even though the car performs awesome I am a tad old school. I like getting sideways and doing huge burnouts every now and again.

The cars kind of have a different following there are some who would say you are crazy to get rid of a gtr to get a zl1 but 99% have never driven a gtr and 99.9% have never driven a zl1.

Make sure you go drive a 2ss and make sure you like the basic feel of the car. I did just wanted more power and grip. The zl1 will.

OK.. at the risk of being called a Cad...

Im RE-Posting a post of mine from October 2010 about the Mighty ZL1... over a year ago. But, it's still the way I feel, so may as well risk it.

Here goes:

EPIC says it all. You can tell that they are out to make a statement. Yes, I am afraid it would be a garage queen for me..... but it's a lot easier to walk out to the garage than drive to a dealer, crank it up, hear the supercharger whining asking for attention, being pulled to the rear to hear the exhaust backpopping, sit in the driver seat a bit, crank up the radio, turn off the radio, record the pipes for my stereo, wax it up, take it out for a mellow growly ride, listen to the cam loping as I creep through the crowd of lookers on Sat. nite, maybe even park it, sharing the marvel of what our designers and engineers have created because it will be rare; then as I go home ... rev it up, wind it out a few times listening to the backpressure pops as I let off the throttle, drive her home, remove the dust, etc, once again listen to the loping growl echoing in the garage, check out the side view mirrors, look at the guages monitoring the systems, make sure the radio is set to my favorite station, enjoy a toast at the end of the evening, gently roll up the windows, check it over, reshine any imperfections, and ever so softly put the car cover on, wish it a good nite, turn off the lite, and peek back to make sure she's ok.... then go to bed, knowing a legend is here providing both solitude and joy, excited that a new day begins at the crack of dawn and I can do it all again........... thanks GM. Thanks.

Hognutz you very correct on saying man dont get rid of gtr but they never driven one.

As of driving a camaro i have driven v6 which a friend has and driven a
a 2ss .To be honest i didnt like the power of the 2ss very heavy car no tourqe
but when have driven the v6 it actually felt more lighter and felt better

I bet the the zl1 is a beast....thanks for input.

I agree with everything you say about the GTR but would like to add that it is quite fugly.

The OP mentioned the Audi having Magnetic Ride. Has anybody seen the Caddy commercial where they ask; Would you believe us if we told you that the CTS-V had the same Magnetic Ride as the Ferrari? What if we told you the Ferrari had the same Magnetic Ride as the CTS-V.

Something like that anyway, it was a priceless commercial. I think it's great that GM developed a suspension so good that some of the finest supercars are using it. And from what I understand, it's not a ripoff of GM's suspension...It is GM"s suspension.

Edit: I found the video. They say borrowed technology, so I was wrong, but still cool none the less.
