V6 front on V8 swap out. (pic request)

When the SS was initially revealled, I recall several people stating they would switch out their V8 or SS front facia with a V6 front has anyone done this ? Any pics?

The V8 front is different because the engine needs a much larger air intake than the V6. The lower grill doesn't really look that much bigger but it is.

And if you want pix why not just look at any pic of any V6 RS? That's what it would look like right?

there is also the issue that you won't keep the little slot since its connected to the front bumper i believe...

i wanted to see what it would look like with the slot opening and the smaller front fascia...but when i get my vert i'll figure out what i want to do

maybe get some custom shop to try to make the front look like the concept version if its possible

Have you looked under the hood, or is this just speculation? The third and fourth gens draw their air for the radiator through the air dam under the radiator. My fourth gen doesn't even HAVE a grille. If you're talking about a "much larger air intake" for the engine, take a look at the air cleaner assembly. It does not appear to have and ducting connecting it to the grille. Maybe an SS owner can confirm?

the air intake for the 2010 is on the drivers side in front of the strut tower. the front fascia isnt going to make any difference in that.

if you are meaning that the grille is smaller and the radiator wont get as much airflow (like that of the 4th gens), you need to go look at a 2010 up close, the grille area where the bowtie is at is completely open to the radiator.

Actually the lead designer of the Camaro personally told me that the V6 lower grill had to be enlarged for the V8 cars so it wouldn't overheat. But it probably only would happen while road-racing in Death Valley in July so why don't you give it a try and tell us how it goes!
