After watching your video there is zero smoke coming off your tires! They are nowhere near getting hot enough. That's 1 problem. The tire itself is another big issue. You would be much better with 18" Mickeys! And your burnout process overall just needs a little revamping. Looks like you might need a posi mod to stop the 1 wheel burnouts. Having a stock converter isnt actually killing you, but once you get traction a better converter will surely help.
Here is a link to 1 of my passes. You should see smoke coming off your tires. I'm the black Camaro inside lane Bolt Ons Only vs full Cammed and Heads Camaro! http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=325673 Last edited by Camarojt; 06-12-2014 at 08:46 AM. |

Well if OP is not on a slick or a drag radial he's not gonna really ever hook.

Yeah from the looks of it, i did not hook at all. I will be going to the track this saturday and gonna follow yalls guys advice. I know i need 18 inch tires, but i also need money ha ha. Those will come in time, for now. I paid for these tires already so i might as well use them. I will stay away from the wetbox and go around it. lower the tire pressure to about 17-18 psi.

Get yourself an Eaton TruTrac. I just dropped .2+ off my 60' times with that and a set of 3.91's running though a M6. I was consistantly cutting 1.7's on my stock p-zeros. You should be able to do the same with the A6. Best improvement I've done so far by A LOT!

With all the mods OP has in his sig (like the blower, headers, no cats), I'd be hoping to go mid to low 12's on street tires, and I'd be watching the MPH. I think fully hooked up I'd be hoping for high 10's @ 12x something. With the mods in your sig you must be putting down 500rwhp or more yeah? I saw a local friend go 11.9@121mph with stick shift, DRs, leaving pretty easy.

Yes should be at least low 11s . I was running high 10s with a little more HP with a 3200 stall stock wheel all 4 corners with nitto 555r on the same set up.

I was stuck doing right wheel burn outs and launching at an angle. My best 60' was a 1.9x and now I'm fairly consistent with 1.72's on the stock pzeros. Axles are going in next week then I'll give it a shot with the 20" NT05R's. Car goes perfectly straight off the line now too. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Well I went to the track again. I drove to the track which was about 2 hours away but let the car sit for about 1 1/2 hours. I installed the hurst line lock since I was not getting the tires hot enough and was having problems with the one wheel spin. The line lock work perfectly without a hitch. both tires spun and were throwing smoke like nothing. Now the times were not great at all, all the run except for 1 were on sport mode, I tried to ease on the gas but it look like I couldn't get it down. here are my time slips and youtube video.

First thing, on a street tire you don't need them to smoke. Just a quick dry spin to clean them off. Long burnouts on street tires make traction worse. It seems from your videos that you are starting to spin in first and not pedaling the throttle and it's spinning into second and bogging down. You really need to work on throttle control and getting a feel for what the car is doing. I'd also be concerned with your mph. My car turns the same mph as yours and I make less than 400rwhp, have a heavier car, smaller ci, and less gear.

Put a 10" slick on that rig...and hang on !! You might break a few items...but...who hasn't .We always put our slicks on and opened the headders.....but that was in the Mid 1970's....now on grudge night..you have to run closed exhaust..the neighbors were bitching...what fun is that !!,
