Spent 2 hours today clearing the monster ice/snow mounds from the roof clearing crew. Fun.
In sad news, I figure I am going to need ~$7-10k in house repairs and another ~$3-4kk in yard drainage work to deal with all this shit when it melts. There goes the "fun" fund. Probably no mods for me in Spring. Sucks.

To be fair, I just want to survive this winter, I love Christine but at this point I just need to make it out of this snow hole. Will figure out the rest later.

Sorry I don't own a home yet so I'm kind of a noob, but snow can cause damage that expensive?

Ya it can cause major damage especially if the roof crews beat the shit out of your roofing while shoveling. Some houses have poor siding aswell so the snow back up will get ice inbetween the siding and cause more damage. Lawn care though pfft just move the snow into the road bit by bit as it melts.

water can back up under the shingles and come through the roof. Our last house where we had issues, the water was falling from the ceiling in two rooms and running down the inside the walls and under the paint. Had to replace two ceilings, re-do some drywall and replace an exterior door as well as fix a chimney that the ice damaged.

Oh the joys of home ownership. Yeah my roof was leaking for last 3-4 years all different places tried fixing 4 sets of windows in roof dormers 15K. that didnt get it done so last year we replaced the whole roof only 15 years old for 24K dollars. I had them do 4 times the Water and Ice shield they normally do fully covered dormers and 5 feet all the way around them. 5 feet up form the bottoms and 5 feet on either side of any valleys.

Yeah getting our commercial garage shoveled as we speak (90'x60'), and they are doing are rental garages next door also (120'x60') not worth the risk. 7500$ is a lot money but a lot less then it would be if we cant run our business. I look at it as paying for insurance.
