Does anyone know if there are negative affects from this? Why doesn't the factory do this or is it just an adjustment that is off? How does it affect a tune or no tune?

Well if the difference was larger but 1 psi isn't a huge amount. It could also create more heat which would reduce the hp. So it becomes a balancing act.

I would only make the gap just large enough to keep it shut. You will want the bypass to work when it needs to.

What if someone adjust this too tight and the WG does not open when needed? Kaboom?

Could this possibly make you run a little lean? Can someone that knows give a little insight on this. Would I need a retune?

I know of some people who disable the bypass at the strip but not something I really wanted to try... |

The air is already measured (MAF) regardless of whether it is bypassed or not. So I would think, the computer would measure more airflow (MAF) and then adjust accordingly. If it made a huge change in PSi then I would consider having the tune adjusted just to be on the safe side and make sure you are using all the power available. |
