Consensus on Eagle Supercar 3 camber

Do we have enough experience to have a consensus on the ideal amount of negative camber for the track for the Eagle Supercar 3 tire?

There is no one magic alignment. It depends on your particular tire wear. That'll account for your application.

What have you tried so far, and what is your tire wear feedback?

Don't know, haven't tracked the car yet. Installing Moreno camber plates, was simply going to go with -3.0 or -3.25. Many performance tire manufacturers provide guidance on what tire pressure hot and what camber their tires like. I have not been able to find that information for the Goodyear's.

You car came with a Performance Supplement booklet that has a GM recommended "Track" alignment, along with suggested cold and hot tire pressures. I suggest you start there, as it's a solid baseline. You don't need the Moreno plates to achieve it either.

A little slice of advice; no amount of camber will provide flat tire wear on the stock FE4 suspension, as the dynamic camber loss and camber curve is non-conducive to good tire wear. Once you get acclimated to the car and reach its maximum pace, roughly -2.6 to -2.8 deg front will be about right to wear both the inboard and outboard shoulders simultaneously. If you're not routinely in HPDE advanced group or better, then you won't need that much camber to reach balanced tire wear. This is why I said earlier the best alignment is one that *you* find wears the tires as evenly as possible.

Where does one purchase Moreno plates? Their website was down tonight. I just wanted to research them.

I ran -3.6 front, -3.0 back in my last track car. Most manufacturers suggest at least -3.0 for their track oriented tires. The suggested camber settings are what you can in theory achieve with a stock set up, not necessarily (or likely) the best set up.

I’m seeing perfect temps across the board with these tires at -2.7.

I also have a set of new Moreno plates that I’ll sell. Never used, bought for my last car. Send me a PM if interested.

Thanks. I already have a set.

I will also take a look at setting the "strut camber" to full positive and achieving say -3 with the camber plates, which I assume is like other camber plates and pulls the top of the strut inboard, this should pull the wheel away from the strut and presumably allow a bigger wheel fit without spacers.

Gen5DIY lists those plates as "out of stock" with mid-August availability predicted.

Something to consider . . . if you're going to run a max +camber setting at the knuckle for tire clearance, camber plates may not have enough range to get you all the way to -2.7°. FWIW, you don't need quite as much tire to strut clearance at mid-sidewall height as the amount the tread and shoulder moves laterally. For most tires, anyway.

It's no problem. You don't need to go max positive at the knuckle to get plenty of wider-than-stock tire clearance.

It will be interesting to see how it works out. When we are on the rack we will test it with the rear wheels, albeit that may not be ideal offset for the front..... It would be handy to have the same wheel and tire on all four corners to enable rotation to even out the track wear and presumably gain some grip.

I'm currently at -3* front and -1.5* rear on my G3R's for a autocross set up.

Thanks. I was hoping for everybody's sake that that was going to be the case.
