Question GM Bluetooth Camaro Phone List

I have already successfully paired my Verizon LG Chocolate phone to the Camaro. Works great. I am ready to get new cell phones thru Verizon and went to the GM website and printed out the list.

Problem is: Took the list to my Verizon Service Center and they said that just about all of the phones on the list are discontinued (Older versions).

I'd like to get the LG env3 (Model# VX9200) phone thru Verizon, but only the env (Model# VX9900) & env2 (Model# VX9100) are on the list for this particular phone design.

The list appears to have not been updated for quite some time. How do I go about finding out if the newer model works prior to committing with Verizon with it? The Verizon service center that they aren't sure if it would or not since it is possible that the Camaro/car was only programmed for the ones on the list (I just can't believe that though).

I think the list is just old, don't see why the newer phones will not work with the Camaro Bluetooth. You can always get the phone and try it and if for some reason it doesn't work you usually have 30 days to return the phone and cancel the plan without any penalty. I know T-mobile and AT&T allow you to do this so Verizon should also but find out before you take my word for it.

Thumbs up

I use to work for Big Red... When you go in ask the sales person to grab a demo ENV3 and pair it to your vehicle. Once that is done make and recieve a test call, if they all go through then you're good to go go. That's what I use to do, because all vehicles seem to post old model devices for BT pairing. And some of the new devices won't work to do the BT build in the Camaro vs the BT software of the phone. But if the ENV2 is listed more then likley the ENV3 will work as well. Good luck!!!

I'll have to try that out with the demo.

Now as soon as it stops snowing.....

New Bluetooth phones are always backwards compatible with older modules profiles (speakerphones, headsets, etc), otherwise there would be a public uproar every time a new phone was released and people had to go out and buy a new $80 headset, etc. Its part of the Bluetooth standard.

Has anyone else had luck using a phone that was not on the list? Hopefully I'll get to try the demo friday pending weather.

I think thats on the list, isnt it?

I paired my friends LG Envy3 phone to the car this afternoon. It worked- made and received calls.

I got a little mixed up doing things, but, if I remember correctly, when I paired the 2nd phone, it was the default phone to makes calls.

I called up Verizon Wireless tonight and got 2 free LG env3 phones. I updated mine, and added another line. Also got son head phones and a 8 GB card for music. Great deal- much better then going to the Verizon Wireless Store.
