Just checked photos of the car...
No front tag holder means no holes in the bumper Now lets see if I can keep it that way from 12,000 miles away while the dealer preps her. |

Just ordered a catch can from Apex. Dimple magnetic drain plugs are next. As long as I'm going to start changing things, might as well change things to extend the life...

Magnetic drain plugs (drain pan, transmission and differential) and oil filter magnet are all ordered and on the way. Counting down now. I'll see my family again in 13 days and my new baby in 14.
I think we've still managed to keep my coming home a secret from my daughter. We've managed to do it every time I'll gone off somewhere, you'd think shed catch on by now. But, she doesn't appear to have a clue I'm coming home. I haven't been able to tell any family or friends that I have a new job and get to come now so it's been a little easier keeping this time a secret. But still, it'd be nice to be able to spread the good news. Soon... |

Here are a few more pics showing off the Blue Ray Metallic:
This show off the blue really well. Here you can almost see the purple, almost brown, that appears when the light is just right. Last year for this color which is sad. The new blue is much brighter and in general I like brighter blues, but it's hard not to love the BRM. I guess they'll just be that much rarer. Magnetic plugs and an oil filter magnet go in this coming weekend followed by a catch can. New mats are on the way. I still have a lot of cosmetic ideas but with Zoe in hand I'm suddenly paused as I have second thoughts ... how can you improve on this? |

Just wondering how anyone has had an accident driving a Camaro when everyone on the roads is already watching you?

Okay, not much but I had a Goldplug magnetic drain plug and magnets placed on the oil filter on Saturday. I let the service department do it because they weren't going to charge labor and I got a free oil change in the deal. 750mi. I have the differential and transmission plugs still as they didn't have their 'first team' on duty on Saturday and the mechanic said the exhaust was in the way somehow. All in all I'd rather they stop if they're not sure rather than plow ahead and damage something.
So, still have those plugs to install. I'll try to get to the catch can this weekend but I've only been back in the 'States for three weeks and driving her for two; I'm still busy like crazy. After two weeks...hand down the best car I've ever owned. |

nice ride
the blue looks great - congrats on the new ride!
read up on the thread on break in and give us your thoughts, there are two schools of thought, one for the manufactures gentle break in and the other for driving it like you stole it break in. keep the pics and the post going - it is cool thank you for your service to our great country Dave

I'm taking a middle road with the break in. I'm commuting in it right now (until I start riding again, but it's hard to get out right now ) so it's pretty gentle on the highway. That said it gets the odd "spirited takeoff"; keeping it under the 4K RPM like GM wants, but a lot of mix in the driving until then. Oil change at 750 mile with the plug/magnet install.
