Wet Kit

For you guys spraying on a wet kit, what fuel pressure should I be looking to maintain? Currently while diing some street tuning, it has dipped to around 52psi a couple times. Is this too low? I'm only looking to spray a 50 shot at the moment, and will never go over 100 shot if I ever go up.

I dont run nitrous, but if your actual fuel pressure is falling below your commanded fuel pressure, it means your pump cant keep up. This is especially bad when your fuel injectors are not large enough to compensate for the low pressure and hit %110+ duty cycle.

Which fuel pump are you running? What is your commanded fuel pressure? Have you tuned the FPCM yet?

Its a stock SS fuel pump and injectors. I found a post that stated it is commanded to drop to 50psi at upper RPM's. Im not sure if my tuner has tunes the FPCM or not. I will inquire with him. He uses HPT, is there anything specific I should ask him on it?

Yes, the stock ss fpcm tune makes FP drop off up top.

To edit the FPCM it requires 1 additional HPT credit. I would get a laptop on the car while you do a nitrous hit. Log Desired Fuel pressure and actual fuel pressure. If they are the same, then you know you're fuel pump is ok for your current mods. If its starting to drop, he can either unlock the FPCM and try to bump the fuel pressure, or you can buy a ZL1 pump. Or both.

Also wouldn't hurt to log injector duty cycle, to see how much room you have.

Sounds good. Thanks for your replies. I will get back with my tuner. He's been tuning for many years, and worked at Detroit Speed before starting his own shop, but he hasn't tuned any 5th gens on spray, so we just weren't sure when we seen the fuel pressure dip that low.
