I deleted the fugly-ass bowtie and black out the bezels.
Sometimes I wonder what a flat black strip across where the bowtie used to be, would look like. Sometimes wonder what the LS7 blackout would look like..

A little confused

How do you black out the taillight bezels?

Some of you guys are suggesting the flat black strip across the back ala LS7. What does that mean?

Plastidip the bezel (spray or liquid; I sprayed lightly then redid it). Remove them and the shrouds (in trunk) using a Lisle 35260 Plastic Fastener Remover (Amazon). I like this pry tool b/c it has the rubber fulcrum point on it.

You could also buy hydrocoated bezels from Roger at Emblem Pros though it'll cost you more than the pry tool and plastidip.

Regarding the black strip I think people mean this:

once you remove the bezels, you prep them and paint them or just plasti-dip them. or you can buy new bezels that come black and they even have ones that are slimmer than the OE bezels that stick on with double sided tape. That is what I was going to do and still might in the future but I like them deleted for the time being.

the black strip just goes across the deck lid where the bowtie is or used to be if you remove it.

I would get silver rims. I'd be happy to trade mine for yours....jk. that's a bad ass car already.I like the 1LE emblem but to replace the SS on the trunk and get a Sparks SS to replace the bowtie.

Thanks for the compliment. Believe it or not when I was getting the car I told my son I was replacing the wheels with brushed aftermarket. Now that I see the wheels ----- naaaah. Thanks for the offer

I did not understand your suggestion about the SS emblem. I replaced the SS emblem with the 1LE emblem already. Are you saying to put an SS emblem on as well? What is a 'Sparks' SS emblem?

My 1le is debadged as well. Love the look, but there is this crease on the back where the bowtie used to be that kinda bugs me. I was thinking of doing a rear blackout like this
I think it would look pretty sweet on a darker color car like yours!

Hmm, I might like that.

Of course it stands out more on the Inferno Orange, but that might be a nice subtle touch with the black taillight bezels and flat black across the top of the bumper and between the taillights.

It's funny that you sent that picture because I'm also considering the hash stripes over the front wheel wells. I think it would make a real statement on a black car blending with the 1LE hood. Since the 1LE is their track car that gives it a subtle race car look.

I didn't want just plain flat black stripes though. I had seen hash stripes somewhere that were flat black fading to a hashed dark grey across their width. I can't seem to find them again.

This is the LS7 blackout I was referring to earlier.
