IAT Breakout

Just curious if I get a breakout kit install will it need to be retuned? and why!
Thanks in advance

I moved my iat, no tuning required for moving it.

A reason to breakout the IAT is for meth use. The IAT is in the MAF from the factory. You should not have meth pass over the MAF wiring as it will cause issues. If you break out the IAT, you move it after the MAF; either mount it in the intake or in the intake tube between the MAF and TB.

This allows you to get benefit of the engine "seeing" the cooling effect of the meth which you can tune for or just leave the tune as is and the meth is just a safety factor.

If you aren't using meth, it probably isn't worth moving the IAT. Another reason would be if you go with a MAF-less speed density tune and get rid of the MAF sensor setup altogether.

As long as the new sensor has the same resistance scale/curve, no retune will be needed.

The scales, however, are in the tune:

I did the breakout for my LSA kit in order to read the lid's sensor, thus we had to rescale it.

Post 577, 578, 579, 580 goes through what I had to have done along with where the scales are.

Just to give you an idea if you have a different sensor scale...

I want to use the breakout to take advantage of the cooling effect of meth so the computer sees cooler air so it won't pulled timing because of the heat from the blower.

Does anyone know the right sensor to get that has the same resistance scale/curve and which harness is best the casper one which is 20$ no sensor or Teds which is 35$ and it looks like you have to do some cutting and soldering but comes with a sensor Thanks

Very simple install we simply cut the IAT wires at the MAF and solder them to the new harness and plug it in.

The Plug and play jumper harnesses are Sweet but adds extra clutter under the hood.

Ted, the IAT wires are the tan and light blue wires right?

Thanks,

Could get another oem MAF and just use the IAT circuit?
