Colder weather - Flat spotting
Hey gang,
Have you noticed, with this colder weather approaching, that when you park the car, outside, for a while, that your tires will be flat spotted for about a mile or so? The telltale vibration is noticeable, by me anyways. just checking to see if y'all have noticed it too.... |

That is one other thing summer only tires do.

Yes I noticed the preassure is down at least 3-4 pounds in the morning when they are cooler and after about a mile I can see on the menu display they have "pumped back up" to normal reading, this will be even more extreme if you park on concrete and it's really cold out.

With the cooler weather, add those three or four pounds before you start out. Keep 'em at spec no matter what the outside temp. Cheers. |

I have only one that is doing that. The low temp here in Florida has been 70.... WTF! I can feel it vibrating well after the tire has reached operating temp! It is currently at the dealership being evalauted.

I even noticed it in the summer months. Goes away after a mile or so.

Not noticed here, but the cold air makes the tire pressure lower because of heat. The cold air is denser so fills less space. As the tires heat up, the air heats back up. This is why you DO NOT fill your COLD tires with COLD air then drive them.

yep, goes away after the tires get warmed up, maybe 5-15 miles or less. My psi was at 33 the other morning, drove alot of the day and was up to 39 by the end of the drive. started with a little vibration, but smoothed out later, especially when I pealed out of a drive.
