I am seriously going to stop worrying about my car when I leave it in the garage for 3 days due to a work trip. WOW

over the past two NJ winters I've left my hellcat covered in my driveway. Both springs, the car fired right up with no issues.
all I did was change the oil before putting it away and get it detailed, cleaned and waxed. like others have said, if you're just putting it away for the winter you don't need to do much. especially if it is going to be in a heated garage. my Harley Davidson gets an oil change, a battery tender and a cover, that's it. no issues over the last ten years come spring time.

One question related to storage:
I’m going back to EU next summer. Over there , almost no parts... I’m going to take some spare with me for the next 10 years. Including MRC Do you know how to store them? I may change them in 4-5 years or sooner. What’s your storage advice to keep them as fresh and new as I can? Horizontal? Vertical? In their box? Under pressure or extended? .... Any common sense suggestions? Thanks |

Why change the oil before putting it away? If anything you should be wanting to change it before spring start up anyway.

no need to have that shitty oil sitting in the engine and the oil pan for a long period of time. plus when you first fire it up in the spring, you want that "newer" oil in there to get the best lubrication possible.
you can always change the oil again in the spring. but I think that would be overkill

What cover do you guys recommend (for indoor storage)? The stock GM part is pretty pricey.

Just because you changed the oil 5 months ago doesnt mean it wont have moisture in it in the spring. Change the oil before you start it if you are that worried about. That's what I do in the cars I dont run at all in those five months. |

Why? I've been using the P-Brake instead of leaving it gear, this is the only way the easy exit option or seat memory works (manual transmission) I also find out that the P-Brake will also automatically release if you forget to release it when you put it in gear and start rolling.
