Finally put some miles on my 14' ZL1 6-speed manual since purchase. All I can say in DAMN this bitch is bad!
I haven't had this much fun driving since I traded my 06' C6Z in for the 12' CTS-V. This thing is faster than both cars bone stock and handles better than the C6Z, and gets more looks than my highly customized Pala ever did. And that thing was a Rare Breed indeed. Here is the kicker, it's bone stock with just a window tint and exhaust fuse pull. The first thing that truly grabs you is that this is a Sports Car, especially in a manual. But can be daily driven. Picked up my 1" from BMR on Friday to get installed this week along with tinting the front windshield. My ass burned up yesterday with this black interior down here in Florda. Very Happy with this Ride. Love the ZL1!!!

Nassty I see you traded your V and got a new ZL1 Congrats to you. I know you from the CTSV owners Forum. I love the CRM then again I am bias as my V coupe is also CRM. I have been trying to hold off until the new Z06 hits the street but this damn ZL1 keeps calling my name. I see a few X V owner here that are now in the ZL1. I just joined to learn more about the ZL1. Post up more pics I may go with white or CRM to match my V? Not sure if I can wait on the Z06 but in the end they are all GM products. Congrats on your new ride, I am sure you will get it really moving like you did with your V.

drl650 & Slingshot thanks Fellas. Here are a few pics I took while visiting my Mom. She is an old hot rodder from back in the 70's. She gave me big props on the ZL1. She said it reminded her of her 1970 Challenger R/T 383 Magnum.
drl650, I think that's the best endorsement you should need on pulling the trigger on a ZL1 lol. Power mods coming soon. These things don't need much though.

Congrats on the Beautiful ZL1!!! I to went from a '12 CTS-V Coupe to the ZL1. I have read all of your posts and must say that I agree 100% on everything you have said.
The V was and is an outstanding GM product but just the mere presence of a ZL1 is sometimes overwhelming!!!! I have owned 2 CTS-V's and this is my second Gen 5 Camaro and none of the 3 previous cars put together received the amount of attention that this ZL1 gets. Again, congrats on a beautiful ride and welcome....... |

very nice upgrade. At PowerTech performance, we do a ton of upgrades for the Dimmit Cadillac dealership because its right around the corner in St. Pete
You're going to love the ZL1, but im partial to the A6 transmission. It makes the vehicle quicker and when calibrated properly its a blast to drive. You bought my favorite color. My wife made me buy an ABM Camaro. I hope to see you around town. be careful parking at the westshore mall lol Phil |

Did you part out the V before trading it in? I'm looking to get rid of my V as well.

I'm thinking of trying a new ZL1 when my 12 CTS-V lease is up next year. Just started researching and seems to be what I'm looking for. I'm looking for something a little meaner looking and sounding.

Damn several V guys on here that have traded the V in for a ZL1 and a few more including myself who are at least thinking about possibly going from a V to the ZL1. At lease were staying in the GM family. The ZL1 seems like a logical choice for most, I really want the new Z06 but not sure what it will wind up costing? also when will the next Gen Camaros come out?

The next gen Camaros are slated for 2016. They will probably wait a few years to release a ZL1 variant just like they have done with the 5th gens. Although it may be quicker to try and get some out before CAFE regulations hinder muscle car power advancements. |

Who knows what the new V will bring to the table. I know it's going cost a bunch more! Considering the V-Sport is already at $70k the V will probably start around 85-90K
