Too funny...five years later and a guy finally consults the owners manual! Gary, you're a true "man's man!" We guys all know you never consult any manuals, maps or instructions (well, or at least admit to it).

But hey, I rode in an old Jeep Wagoneer whose thoughtful engineers over at Jeep placed the distributor cap right up against the radiator so each time the thing would overheat and spew coolant the Jeep would die. Ah, the marvels of the high paid engineering automotive think tanks. Amazing.

Hey everyone....as I previously mentioned, I am looking at possibly moving to Tucson in 2016....just saw they have emissions laws...how strict are they? I have a tune, ported throttle body, headers, high-flo cats, and after market cat back. Am I gonna run into problems with emissions testing?

There is talk of the emissions program being gone by the time you get here in 2016, but that is not written in stone.

Cars are exempt from emissions for a 5 year period from the date of sale from the new car dealer.

For a 2010 Camaro, the testing site will connect into the OBD connector under your dash and look for CELs, emission codes, and the like. My guess is your tune has taken care of any of those codes being posted. With no codes found as they interrogate your system, you will pass that part of the inspection.

They will then test the gas cap to ensure it will hold vacuum; if not, you'll be given a replacement gas cap on the spot, for free.

I have only seen them mirror the underside of pre- OBD equipped cars to make sure the cats are still there. On those older cars, they test emissions by putting a probe up the exhaust system to do a real time read of the emissions.

Come join us for a fun cruise up Mt Lemon Sunday Aug 10. Any interested Phoenix people meet me at Sams club in casa grande at 10am. We will roll out and meet up with some others at QT on Cortero and fuel up if needed then roll out by 11:00. From here we will head to Udell park to meet the rest of the group by 11:30 and proceed up the mountain spend a couple hours up top then make our way down to be at Sir vezas by 4:00pm to enjoy a nice meal. For any one who has not done this ride yet it is a fun road to be on and once were up top its much cooler and more comfortable weather. If interested PM me to get on the list. 13Inferno i have you down i will be putting the list together in a bit and posting it. Bradly do you have any more sierra vista people coming?

you could always move just outside of pima county example would be i live in pinal county and we have zero emmissions
