Seat heater on and immediately off again
This morning when I got in the car and backed out of the garage, I engaged the driver's seat heater as I normally do. The 2 indicator lights came on for 3 seconds, only to go right back off. It didn't stay on long enough to determine if it's actually trying to generate any heat during this time. It did this on repeated tries on my way to the office.
Passenger heater seems to work fine. I searched and found an old thread about this but there wasn't a DYI solution that I could see. Naturally, I'm about 2 weeks out of warranty. Any thoughts or suggestions? |

The heating element is probably broken,
there is a DIY sticky on here about how to replace it. If you have no experience with upholstery and hog rings, talk to someone who does because it can be a major pain as I found out this summer.

I adjusted the seat and it started working again. I'm basically a master mechanic.

I have the same issue. What do you mean when you say you adjusted the seat?

I literally just used the seat adjustment controls and moved the seat up a little bit. I'm guessing a wire is being pulled/compressed somewhere and it just ended up in an odd position.
Hoping, anyway. |

There might be a short in the wiring or element as stated above.

well when the time comes<and it will come> its a pretty easy install for the heating element and the cost is fairly cheap.
