Corsa L99 Review - Not loud enough?

Hey Guys,

So I previously had the muffler delete done on my L99 Automatic SS but recently installed the Corsa 14964.

Though the quality of the sound is much better and refined, I feel the volume has really gone down and I'm actually considering going back to my old stock muffler delete!

Can you guys suggest ways for me to make it louder? Not a little but a lot!

I'm also getting an AFM delete this weekend.

Thanks

Headers will wake it up the stock manifolds and cats muffle it a lot.

I've heard long tube headers make a huge difference with a Corsa system.

Like the OP, I have the muffler delete. The surprising thing is, without any mufflers at all, there is very little increase in sound. That means the stock headers and exhaust system has to be very restrictive. No aftermarket muffler can change that. You need headers and/or cats if you want more sound.

I think it's like that with most systems after you hear the muffler delete. I had a muffler delete and thought it sounded pretty good but it was just temporary (dealer kept axle-back). I ordered and put on My stainless works full catback and it almost sounded the same if not a tad more muffled. I was expecting a HUGE difference from what people were saying. I wasn't disappointed at all but just was expecting it to be much louder.

Like they said. I think once headers are on it will sound awesome! my friend has the borla ATAK and was expecting it to be really aggressive but it sounded somewhat muffled and pop-corny . He installed kooks headers and MAN is that set up extremely loud especially WOT! I wish I would've bought headers 1st!

I agree having the longtube headers and corsa exhaust really make the car loud. I love it! Makes people turn their heads.

I have the Corsa ZL1 3" catback exhaust and have the stock manifolds and stock midpipes. The sound is pretty good, but doesnt sound really great in higher RPM's. I had LT headers with high flow cats on the car previously with the NPP exhaust with flaps open. It sounded great. But I dont want it too loud, but want it sound better with the Corsa. With all these people talking about how loud the Corsa is with LT headers, I think I might not want to go that route. What about doing just the midpipe. They make a version with and without cats. You can get the non catted ones for $210. The catted mid pipes at $390. So I thought about giving that a try. Has anyone tried the Corsa with stock manifolds and the mid pipes with or without cats?

I'm running ARH headers and cats, 3 inch pipes to Corsa's dual tipped mufflers. It's louder than stock but not too bad. Previously I had Stainless Works 3 inch Turbo mufflers and as far as sound loudness comparison, I thought they were about the same. The difference is- no drone with the Corsas.

Kinda off topic but I've never heard a corsa system in person. I have muffler delete with lt headers no cats or resonators. It's loud but if I could I'd like to tame it a little without making it too quiet.

I don't think a CAI adds anything to the exhaust note. It will produce some growl from under the hood though - especially when you tromp on it.
