Need some info on my "lemon"

Thanks to all that reply. I have a '14 2LT RS that I purchased from a dealer. After retitling it states: Titled in CA as: Manufacturer Buyback, Lemon Law Buyback.
The paperwork that I'm sure the dealer (a reputable Chevrolet dealer) went over with me I've misplaced. I don't want to give the impression that I was unaware of this, I faintly remember them mentioning something about it. However, I preceded with buying it based upon the low miles and the dealer's inspection of the car before they put it up for sale.
The car has given me absolutely no problems, it has 44k miles on it.
My question is this. Is there a way to find out why the original owner went forward with designating it as such? In other words, I'm assuming (maybe wrongly) that there has to be a record of what he or she thought or documented was wrong with the car originally? I called the dealer and they of course kinda hinted they didn't know how to obtain this information.
I would like to know for curiosity's sake and of course to provide a potential buyer with that information as well. Once again, thanks guys....

I would think carfax or any reputable vin check website that shows you recalls/ service history would have this information.

Send me the last 8 of your vin number. I have access to some of that information.

A lemon requires the same problem to occur 3x.

This varies by state

Well in most states…

In most states, for a car to qualify as a lemon, the car must have a significant defect that is covered by the warranty. It also must have occurred within a specified period, either in time or miles, from when you purchased the vehicle. Also, it must still not be fixed after a reasonable number of attempts to do so.

I agree with all of this I was just saying his state may not be 3.

I can't stand people that nit pick at every little thing. If they do that kind of crap, they should have NEVER bought the vehicle to start with.

Not in my state. It could be just one time. To lemon a car here it needs to:

1) Have the same problem 4 times

-OR-

2) Be out of service for 30 days in total during the first 18 months of ownership.

So it could be one problem that takes a long time to fix.

The problem that takes a month is I’m sure extreme rare. So 4x is most likely to happen first.

Blew $40 on a Carfax report. Although helpful for other info, nothing on why it was placed in lemon status. Oh well, it’s up for sale & discounted heavily due to this. The dealer I bought it from won’t even consider buying it although the last one on their lot, same year/model w/ 60k miles sold in 2 days for 22k.
