Does anyone have a 4th Gen that has better performance then a 5th 2SS?
I'm curious to know if any of our members have tuned or modded their 4th gens enough to out perform the 5th Gen SS?
If so, what mods did you make and what are your approx numbers. Thanks.

The short answer without any detail whatsoever? A metric shit ton.

Sure, I've seen blown LS1's get 650hp at the crank... I'm just wondering if anyone here is getting 400+ out of their 4th gens.

tons of people make 400+ at the wheels with heads and cam. My 98 formula makes 400+ as well. It's pretty common. |

WS6s and SSs run low 13s out of the box. A couple of bolt ons will have a 4th gen easily outrunning the 5th. That said, they aren't near as sexy!

The 5th Gen. is beautiful. But a Camaro is beautiful (or "sexy" if you prefer), no matter what gen. it is. |

4th Gen SS's and Z28's ran below 13 STOCK. It was high 12's, but 12's none the less.
I'll put my original air box back on with original air filter and show ya! Actually, that would take time....so just take my word for it. They run below 13. |

With a medium stall, lid, tranny tune, MT DRs, and catback, I'll run away from a 5th Gen. SS out of the hole and might still be out a few lengths by the end of the track. I haven't had a run with my LTs on, but my brother, with crappy track prep', pretty much the same mods', ran a 12.2 @ 112 with the same LTs. His car put down 35X RWHP and the most my car has made has been 366/371 RWHP/RWTQ with the LTs and what I've listed already. 4th Gens. ROCK. They'll give a 5th Gen. a good run in a straight line but I think we'd fall behind in the corners.
