The g6 ZL1 is a badass looking car IMO and although I haven’t been in one I wouldn’t hesitate to trade my G5 ZLI for one just for the added performance. The SS doesn’t seem as aggressive as the G5 SS IMO.

Technology wise the 6th gen performs better. Appearance wise the 5th gen appeals to me better.

It is ashame that we have a great Camaro generation such as the 6th gen., but Chevy and GM are stumbling over themselves in how to handle it.

Holy necro Batman

My opinion on it is the 6th is faster stock for stock.

The 5th has it over the 6th in looks.

I do like the look of the 6th gen just not as much as the 5th.

Would I buy a 6th.....only if I won the lottery...them make mine a ZL1 A10

I’ll just let the pictures speak for themselves. These were taken last year when I had the car ceramic coated.

My business partner has a 6th Gen SS Auto, mine headers, tune and Cai, we ran by the end second gear I had him by a car length and a half.
He might need a driver mod, but it felt really good walking him after I got to hear how 455 is greater than 426 A LOT. I kept telling him headers rock hard.

Yep. horsepower doesn't do you any good if you don't know how to use it. I've out-run faster cars myself.

I was in competition mode, and I know he leaves all the nannies on and just floors it.

As many have said, it will come down to personal preference. I have two 5th Gens, a 2013 ZL1 and a 2015 2LT/RS as my DD. I have test driven a 2016 6th Gen. I am not a big person, but the 6th Gen felt cramped, very cramped. I didn't like either the interior or the exterior of the 2016. Neither bad, but the 5th looked and felt a bunch better to me. Again, also speaking to personal preference, I by very far prefer the 5th over the 6th and would not give up either of my 5th Gens for a 6th. No offense intended, as we are car people expressing our feelings.
I hope that we all stay safe and healthy, and away from (as I call it as I'm Canadian as well) the beer flu.

I love the 5th gen and will keep me as my toy forever and keep modding it. But got to admit that having a fbo and cammed 5th gen and losing to a stock 6th gen 1 outta 3 times sucks. Just shows you how much better and lighter they are. Imagine if it had the same mods as you would be getting gapped by a bus length.

But in the world of race cars you can make anything just as fast or faster than any other car out there.

After having a 2013 zl1, 2010 ss and now a 2013 1le , 2017 1le, 2020 zl1/1le i can say the 5th gen is still my personal favorite far as looks go. However the two 6th gens parked in the garage have a aggressive look all of their own. Some styling cues on them i do not care for.

I read the whole thread - I will not evaluate the appearance. 100 people - 100 tastes.
(I personally never liked the 6 gen.)

But from the comparison 6 gen. has only one advantage for me ....lower weight.

- Faster 0-60? - Basic modes on 5 gen. and everything is different.
- Higher top speed? - give me 5 min with SCT-X4 and 5 gen. will be faster.
- Faster 1/4 mile? The question of modes. Cam, intake, exhaust.. and bye bye.
- Faster in slalom? Less weight, less centrifugal force.
- Higher side G in Skidpad? Same as previous "advantage"
- Shorter braking distance? Less weight again - less centripetal force.

And we will not lie. The main thing we evaluate is appearance.
Admit who would buy this, for example, even if it surpasses in all respects ... future 10 generation of Camaro
