2SS/RS M6 - ordering questions - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

I am interested in ordering and I just saw the update posted on the main page about the 2SS M6 being shipped now again... does that mean dealers can submit SS M6 orders and get allocation for them? OR should i still wait to place my order so I will know how long the wait is going to be for the car?

** I hope I understand the process correctly... bare with me.. i'm new here to the forum.

You can place your order with the dealer at any time. The dealer will place the order with GM when they have an allocation available, and the system allows them to order the MN6. Ask about their allocations first... that's the key to your wait time.

ok... I think i just assumed they were not going to give allocation to SS M6 orders until they figure out what the prob was...

So If you recieved an order number, does that mean your dealer had an allocation? Or does that just mean they placed the order and are waiting for an allocation to complete the order?

Could mean both. You do get an Order # when your order gets entered in the system whether the dealer has an allocation or not. When the dealer receives the allocation and your order is next in line, your order starts moving.

Delano. You are out there in grapeland. Do you have a Chevy dealership out there or did you have to go elsewhere?

In Chevyese the manual code is MN6, the auto code is MXO. I ordered a 2SS manual today from my allocation.

HAHAHAHA...yeah this is grapeland for sure. I dont live out in the middle of nowhere though...there are a couple of dealerships out here. I ordered from a small dealership, as well as from a bigger one in Bakersfield. Seems like im making more progress from the small dealership since they had less people on thier list.

You just gadda know that this whole Camaro ordering thing is a big puzzle with the pieces constantly shifting around. If you get lucky, the pieces just drop into place and you get your ride sooner than later. If you are not

so lucky, like meeee, you better know you are in for a very rough ride.

How long have you been waiting? I just hope that when it finally arrives, the dealer sticks to his word and sells it to me for MSRP.

Very True Old Timer. All I can do is wait and see what happens though. All I know is that im not paying more than I agreed too. NOT because I cant, but because that would be showinf the dealers they can do what ever the please......I dont think so!

good idea...no reason to ever pay more than agreed unless the product changes at your request and with you in agreement...all that make sense???
