Issues with my Twin Turbo Setup - Please advise!!

I have a 2011 SS with the agp twin turbo setup. i have a few issues that i could use some advisement on.

1. The catch can is spitting oil all over itself everytime i drive it and it seems like it happens every time i give it some gas not just when i get into boost. i lost about a 1/2 quart in only 1-2k miles.

2. the oil smells burnt even just checking the level on the dip stick you get a whiff of the burnt smell.

3. im noticing a ticking noise under the hood. i could just be paranoid but it doesn't seem normal.

im worried it might be something major like signs of engine failure. any ideas of what could be the issue? thanks!

I think you blew your engine man, i experienced the same things when I had a Agp kit. Turned out I blew piston #4 and 7.

I'm not an expert, but it sounds like excessive blow by. Might be time to check out the rings/ringlands?

I had oil constantly oozing out of my agp catch can. Did a leak down and compression test and every thing was fine. Turned out that my Holley valve covers have shitty baffling and that was the issue.

Compression test will show if you hurt a cylinder or two. Any data logs from just before you noticed this issue?

Post how the catch can is setup. Valve covers?

Compression/leak down check.

LS motors tick, so without more info hard to say anything there.

Doesn't sound like anything is related to the turbo setup, but possible a motor or plumbing of the catchcan issue.

Sounds like you are pressurizing your catch can under boost. So, you need a check valve to check against the pressure but not against vacuum. Hope the ticking etc works out. Compression check for sure.

As per our phone conversation, When you changed your boost controller set up you added 3 psi boost at the top without re-tuning, and it is possible you detonated the engine.

Your tune was optimized for your boost curve 12 sloping down to 9. when you change the boost curve to 12 flat the car needs to be re-tuned for that boost curve.

A leak down test is in order to determine if you broke a ring land.

I will look over your catch can set up when you send the pics.

Ted.

Adding 3psi without tuning is a bad idea. That could be an easy 100+rwhp more.

That's kind of stretching it.
No way you will pick up 30+ HP per pound of boost.

Actually AGP kits have been doing ~35rwhp per lb of boost, depending on turbos and setup.

30 is on the low end.

Impressive, I'll have to look into that kit some more.

Just one of many results but for reference
Stock LS3 (for now)
Stock Clutch (yeah, for now)
Stock rear (again, for now)
Nightfury 113LSA
Squash Fuel System
E85 Flex Fuel (dyno with 80% ethanol)
1000cc injectors
Larger intercooler
Journal bearing 55/57 .63 ar turbos.

625 hp @ 6lbs
700 @ 8lbs
845 @ 12lbs

So ~36rwhp per lb of boost.
