Is there a way I can buy a tuner and turn it off my self or did I need to take it to a speed shop

You could buy a hand held tuner and do it yourself. Drawback though is the warranty hassles, kiss the 100K powertrain warranty goodbye.

I know the Diablosport Predator has a selection to turn that off yourself, probably several other tuner brands also. Just look at their list of user adjustable parameters.

I am aware of the warranty , but I just ordered Borla atak exhaust and there's no way I'm leaving the afm with that exhaust

If it's the drone and sound your worried about. IMO you should have ordered the Solo J-pipe system. NO drone, great deep sound even on my L99 and I kept my AFM and warranty. Muffler delete and no ugly trash cans. I could go on and on. It's the best improvement you can make to a new Camaro.
Again- IMO of course.

Then I would just get a full dyno tune. 100 dollars more then the handheld, you can get a full tune and AFM disabled.

+1

I have the Borla ATAK cat back on mine and the drone and AFM sounds have not been that bad. I like the way it sounds...now I'm waiting on getting my ARH long tubes installed. I'm getting them coated right now. I will be having a dyno tune done to get rid of AFM.

I personally like the option of being able to change things myself...so getting a tune from someone that I can't mess with annoys me.

You have to be careful then. If you mess with some of the other settings it allows you to do and do not know what you are doing, you can kiss your engine goodbye. Sometimes, it is better to leave it to the experts.

I offer the SCT X3 Hand Held tuner with a custom tune for your mods and it works like this.

Buy the SCT X3 Tuner from me and the first tune for simple bolt ons is FREE.

Continue to purchase your performance parts from me the Tunes for those parts are FREE.

Ask around about my tunes, AFM OFF is Standard in my custom tunes.

Ted.

I talked to a guy from Borla at C5Fest and he said that the Atak system has the least drone. I would install it and see.
