Used 2010 SS
Could use some advice. I found a used 2010 SS with only 10,000 miles on it, it looks brand new inside and out. They're asking $22,000 for it, do you think that's too much since it's over 8 years old now even though the mileage is so low? I have the carfax and it has had normal servicing and never in any accidents or any major problems with it. 2 owners, 1st drove it for 7,000 miles and owned for 5 years and the 2nd owner had it for 3 years and drove it the remaining 3K. I can get a full 5 year/85,000 mile bumper to bumper warranty for an additional $3,000. Good deal bad deal? And do you think there would be any issues due to the age even though mileage is low? Just curious. Thanks for any advice you could give me.

I came very close to buying exactly what you have found, I waited and found a 2013 with 12k miles for $25.000.
The upgraded stuff, suspension, mylink was worth it to me to pay an xtra 3k or so... Early 2010 Camaros had output shaft breakage on the first 25k or so cars on the stickshift cars, also tire age, tires are really not supposed to be driven on after 6 years of age regardless of miles. |

That is too much. It should be below 20,000.
Is it 2SS? Is it RS? If it's an automatic, has the lifter replacement per the TBS been performed? Beyond that, a car that age could be great or not so much. The pricing is above "very good" condition, so the car should be perfect. You should look at everything carefully, including on a lift. On the other hand, a car is worth what someone will pay for it. I have a 2010. That year and 2011 have no cosmetic "refresh" and I like them a lot for that reason. |

$20,737 is what KBB shows for the high end price of that car in excellent condition (only 3% of cars fit that criteria), this data is for buying from a private seller. Based on that information it shows to be about 5-6% overpriced. If the car is indeed in excellent shape maybe make an offer at 94% of the asking price. Market for your area will dictate value. Failing getting them to lower the price see if you can negotiate cost reduction on new tires, future maintenance etc.

I've got a great 2010 for sale at 20k. Message me for pics and details if you like.
Garage kept and covered, 18k miles, beautiful 2010 Camaro 2SS/RS. The car is in perfect condition, stored winters, never even driven in the rain and not a single scratch or ding on it. The exterior has custom Red Jewel stripes painted on, covered by an entire body clear coat, cut and buff for a stunning deep, glass like finish - and YES, you really do have to see it to appreciate the finish. Lexani 9X20" (front) and 10X20" (rear) wheels with Mickey Thompson StreetComp tires. Blacked out taillight bezels, airbrushed 'Super Sport' logo on the hood, black chrome fuel door, and more. Under the hood the factory 6.2 litre V8 has enhanced horsepower with the addition of an Edelbrock EForce Supercharger, RotoFab intake, StainlessWorks headers, Heartthrob X-Pipe, Elite catch-can, JRE upgraded fuel rails and pump, MSD plug wires, and a few light cosmetic touches. The suspension has been upgraded, front and rear, including 1000ph Driveshaft Shop axles, Pedders & BMR performance bushings, sway bars, toe links, trailing arms, Hotchkis strut tower brace, Carbotech performance brake pads, and more. Interior includes the add of AutoMeter Air/Fuel, Boost, and Fuel Pressure gauges. This car is both an excellent, loaded, comfortable cruiser and high performance thriller.

after 9+ years and 56,000 miles. Asking $22,000, offer $18,000. There's a ton of these Camaros out there. Buyers market IMO.

If you want a "like new" GEN5 your going to pay a bit more for it. And Yes if it is a low mile mint car it does fall into that 3% perfect condition pricing from KBB. I traded my 2011 about a year and 1/2 ago and got $21,000.00 trade in. It was a low mile (under 5,000 miles) 2SS/RS loaded. If you like the car check the numbers and do like myold88 said make a fair offer on the car and see if they bite. Hope this helps. PS: Extended Warranty sounds a bit high to me. Not sure if you would break even on that over the 5 years of use.

My 2010 turned out to be a great car. I have 147k miles now, and although I did have a rocker/spring bust on cylinder 3 at around 83k miles (which was a fairly painless fix), I've had no trouble since and its been performing great.
Also, the suspension's been upgraded, along with a lot of other things - which has been a lot of fun to do. Price you show for that 2010 is not bad for the mileage you have. |

This might sound like a stupid question, but how do you know if the car is a 2SS/RS?

I'd go $19,000 with the warranty, and $16,000 without it.

But to answer your question; The easiest way to tell the difference between a 1SS and a 2SS is the 2SS has leather, BA sound system, the 4-pack of gauges on the console, power mirrors, etc. RS package includes HID headlights, body color ditch molding, darker tail lights, etc... |

RS would have the painted roof drip rails, darker tented tail lights, gauge cluster center console I'm sure I missed something but that gets you started anyway
