Well, I felt like its a little overdue but I wanted to start a build thread. Its going to take a minute to catch it up, but I have most of the pictures I took from many of the mods, even if there aren't really all that many mods. I bought the car in March of 2015, a completely stock 2010 Camaro SS/RS, with 24,000 miles. Its a west coast car, so it has seen almost no road salt. It was at first a mild mannered daily driver with the headers and cold air intake that I installed, but that just wasn't enough for me, so in 2018, I started slowly transforming it into a weekend cruiser with no road courses in mind, but a high RPM drag racing car. Thanks for viewing, and plenty more pics are on the way!

Here is the first one the day after I drove it off the lot, before I had a license plate. Yes, the state of Washington requires a front mounted license plate, AND someone drilled the bumper to install it before I got it

This was that summer.. it was sporting a cold air intake and a muffler delete.

Badass. That’s a big cam. Did they try and sell you cylinder heads?

Thank you! Actually, no, they asked if I wanted to have them rod mod my intake manifold, but my budget had already maxed out. They put on some head gaskets from Cometic and were able to bump the compression up to 11.1 without milling. Heads would've been awesome but it just wasn't feasible that time. It still isn't, after this little batch of upcoming mods (new headers, LOD intake manifold and CHE trunnion upgrade). I will likely wait to do the heads until I do my fuel system.

I’m glad you posted this. I do major lurking on here and every time I see your sig in a thread with that burnout pic , awesome car man!!! I see you are in tn, who did your cam install and tune? Every shop around Atlanta I talk to always wants to get rid of vvt. Gpi is 12 hrs from me, would be nice to find a shop closer to home that can handle a vvt cam

Dont get rid of the VVT if you drive it on the street. Its a plus because of valve timing flexibility

If you're going full send, then get rid of it

Thanks dude! Yep those were my Nitto NTO5Rs that I did that burnout on. After an embarrassing performance at a local 1/8 mile track, I got a Hurst line lock and vowed to smoke the living daylights out of the Nittos to heat them up enough for November track conditions. "This time I am gonna do a burnout from hell" was the quote that led to the burnout featured in my sig pic below.

GPI did my cam, and Ryan Stevens did my tune. He did a street and dyno tune. Top notch shop!

Thanks Z, thanks Fordkiller! I'm gonna post some more updates as soon as they come.

Chapter 1 2015-2017

This was the first mod to my car, very expectedly, as I was not familiar with the plethora of aftermarket goodies and support for the 5th Gen Camaros. The tried and true from the 90s, watching Horsepower TV and wandering AutoZone looking for air filters and wondering how much horsepower some Royal Purple Oil would free up...Get a K&N!

A few months went by, and I went ahead and got these 1 7/8 long tube headers from Texas Speed & Performance. They looked awesome next to the stock boat anchors, and were so much lighter! I chose the catless option, and a buddy and I got them installed in a little less than 2 hours. Such an easy mod, and when we fired it up (I already had done the muffler and resonator delete, mind you) I grinned from ear to ear. Now I was loud, right?

Shiny new headers, ironic picture though, later in the journal when I catch it up to current, you will see why..

We took it out to the back 40 for a little sound test, and here it was, a straight piped stock L99 with only long tube headers and a cold air intake...eeghh

Now given that, just imagine the AFM kicking in. until I found the way to get around it. But really, all I needed was a tune. Maybe a performance chip would do the trick, right?

Fast forward to the summer of 2018. Here is one of my 1/8 mile passes a couple of months before camming the Camaro. I was lined up against a C5 at the local track. The only difference now was that I was running open headers instead of straightpipe. I don't have the slip anymore, but the et was 8.5@8?mph
