I remember that now that you mention it. I think it's called moleskin. For some reason, it only comes in a kit and I could only find it for one vehicle. Didn't make any sense why.

Definate grease on the window, but no dirt or dust scratches

Yes, moleskin is one product that many people really like. The scratches, from what I've read, are a result of newer cars not using the felt, or as much, anymore and are relying more on rubber. When a piece of sand or whatever gets underneath, the rubber just keeps it pressed up against the window rather than felt that would allow it to sink down into the felt.

Hey, I noticed a faint line in my drivers side window outside two weeks ago before I put her up for the winter. It would not rub out and my glass was clean as a whistle and had not seen rain, sleet, snow or dirt roads since I brought her home.I figured it was a metal shaving on the seal trim.Looks like it will be a problem with so many reporting on this.To the dealer in the spring to check out for sure.

My mustang has scratches on the windows as well and I have tint so it makes them look even deeper. But you can not see them from the outside.

Googled Moleskin and came up with this:
http://forums.themustangsource.com/s...d.php?t=443001

What material is touching the window? rubber or some kind of felt? Someone want to try it on their Camaro?

Any closeup pics of the window channel?

I like that! Now, I wonder, is there felt/rubber on both sides of the glass that we need to replace or cover?

I measure mine last night. 43" will give you about 1/2" to 1" extra moleskin. I think I will order the felt by the foot, since they don't specify how long their universal kits are.

I still need to determine if I should place the moleskin on both sides of the glass.

I emailed them this very question and the reply was "Our universal kit includes 20 feet of Tint Protector Moleskin.

If you have any more questions, please don't hesitate to contact me.

Mine were fine when I got it done, but over time it is getting more and more scratched. The strip in there probably is not smooth anymore. I am getting a Camaro soon so I am not worried about it haha.

So let me get this straight...we're talking window scratches on a Monte Carlo and a Mustang in a Camaro forum? Hmmm...
