2010 SS. It's a beast!

I was looking for a replacement for my older BMW 328 Convertible and figured on looking at the offerings from Scion, in the FR-S line, but the salesman at the local Toyota dealership was a pompous ass. The first thing he said to me was that there price was non negotiable and then he could'nt be bothered to show the car to me. I walked away. So I figured I'd swing by the Ford place to check out the Mustang GT vert. Sales staff was courteous and professional. More than happy to deal and knew the product. I planned to go back. While talking with a buddy that night I mentioned my plan to check out some options and he mentioned the Camaro was pretty decent. So the next day, I stopped at the Chev place and asked to see a Camaro convertible. THey had no new Camaros left, but he said I could look at the previously owned one with the SS2 trim package, Hurst shifter, BBK header and Magnaflow mandrel bent stainless exhast. He also mentioned the ground effects package, 21 inch wheels with Pirelli P-Zeros' (not available here in Canada except through the dealer after sales program) and numerous dealer installed accessories. He said a local high end car afficionado owned it and it cad only 1681 km (about 1050 miles) on it. Sounded interesting, so I figured I'd check it out. The story is that he had just traded this car, an '84 IROC Z-28 and a Ducati crotch rocket in on a LS1 Camaro (It was under a cover on the high end showroom). I asked them to fire it up and he opened the side drive through door and turned the LS3 powerplant over... What emminated from the rectangular exhast ports was pure adrenaline! After a painfully short demo, he shut the engine off and offered it up for a test drive. I was hesitant, but agreed to take it around the block. All I could picture was the commercial where the NASCAR driver takes the salesman for a drive and brings him back with PTSD... THe Hurst shifter was extrodinarily crisp, but had enough "notch" in it to remind me that this was American muscle, unlike the over engineered offshore competition. The clutch engaged high on the pedal travel and reminded me of my '81 Malibu with a Saginaw 4 spd and 2 foot long Hurst shifter- nostalgia from days gone by, but I've had the car since new and just can't bring myself to part with it and it's highly modified 350 cu in motor. After pulling out of the parking lot, I felt the rapid surge of crisp yet smooth horspower connect with the road in a way that brought me back to my American Hot Rod loving youth..Fast forward 30 years and I'me driving one the hottest domestic performance vehicles ever built. Instant love is how I would describe it. Bringing it back, I promised the salesman I would give it some serious thought and thanked him for the opportunity to enjoy this incredible automobile. Then after taking a new 2013 Mustang GT convertible for a substantial test drive, I decided to go back and see how willing they were to deal at the Chevy dealership. Figuring the $35995.00 asking price was likely pumped a bit, I offered about 20 % lower on a cash deal. They waffled ond we came to within $1500.00, but I walked. That night I experienced a very profoud aircraft accident (I'm an Air Force guy) where there should have been many casualties, given the nature of it, but miraculously no one was hurt! (I now believe in Guardian Angels by the way)So the next morning, I decided that I'd give it another go... We settled on a number that was mutually acceptable and an hour later I found myself driving home with the biggest shit eating grin you could imagine! So that's it; I suppose I'm now the custodian of a classic supercar that is nearly 4 years old and has never seen a raindrop...- Next is a plate that says BEAST. It pretty much suits it to a tee! Hell Yeah!!!!Turns out that it has never been out even in the rain!
Sorry about the shitty pictures; I was using my I-phone.

Yes, the Cabot Trail is a beautiful piece of highway and the scenery is second to none. I grew up on Prince Edward Island and if you have time, it would definately be worth your while to visit. The beaches and rolling landscape are world class and the people are super friendly. And for the dining afficionado, the restraunts in the province capital (Charlottetown) are some of the best in the country. Let me know if there is anything I can help you with. Anyways, enjoy your visit and have fun!

Thank you RJT. It was a pretty wild sequence of events, involving an RCAF Sea King that had a main rotor blade ground strike. Remarkably, there were no injuries. It scattered debris in a 300 yd circle and there were even chunks of rotor blade that went through the hangar door.
