So Ofer, is this Z/28 going to be held up for the Key/FOB Recall?

I would DEMAND that the car be trailered to my house/safe zone away from the dealer until the keys come in. Seriously.

Congrats on the Z/28 by the way!

I would tell them to leave the Key/FOB the way it was built. Mine has worked fine for over 5 years without any problems.

I went to a local dealer with a Z/28 just for kicks, and they said it can't leave the lot for at least 3 weeks, due to a upcoming recall. The service guy said that the first batch of parts goes to people who already own their cars, and then when the influx of owners dies down, they start on the new inventory, then used, etc. I feel really bad for you, but I agree, just tell them you don;t want the new key, has your knee hit your existing key and turned the car off yet?

thats such a shame Ofer, you should be allowed to sign a release stating that you are aware of the recall but wish to take the key anyways.

Perhaps call GM customer service and ask if that is an option. that way, you are taking your own "life" in your hands

If you sent it out for headers, I'd say you already own it and they should let you take it....

Can this be true? That the first batch of parts goes to people who already own their cars? That's a big "batch." With 500,000 Camaros built before mine, and others here also whose cars are embargoed on the dealer's lot, that will be a long time to wait. And dealers will sit on cars they have not sold and cannot sell, which can't make them happy.

I've done that because I have a 1LE that I've bought but can't have. Chevrolet said nope.

I am 6 2 and no way my knee can turn the key off.

I am not changing my key. They can give to someone else waiting.
