battery in the trunk, great idea, however...

Forgot to put a non electrically powered opener outside the trunk, great move chevy, lol. So I disconnected the battery since I thought I was shipping out for a few months, plans changed so tonight I go to hook the battery so I can drive to work in the morning, and that's when it hits me... how the hell do I get the trunk open, no electrical power means the door button and remote obviously won't work, time to open the rear seat and crawl into the trunk to hit the emergency release. Which would wrk if you don't have subs mounted directly in the way, lol. Note to file, next time don't shut the trunk all the way.

You could "jump" another battery, from another car or a spare. Just hook it up to the positive and negative in engine bay and should be able to "pop" the trunk.

Sorry, but you answered your own question.

Did you expect GM to come up with an answer for the few that put subs in?

There are two good things that come from the battery in the trunk, one better front to rear weight bias and two, it takes the battery from a hot environment, which batteries hate.

The only answer would be a key cylinder in the trunk, but those have been pretty much eliminated in the era of RKE.

Definitely an issue if you've blocked the rear seat pass through.

Cigarette lighter port jumper cables?

Rope to the front for the inside trunk release?

You have a positive term and a body ground under the hood, so like mentioned before all you have to do is unlock your door with the key pop the hood, hook up a power source (jumper, battery box, charger) and you should get enough power to run your accessories

Get yourself a trickle charger/battery saver and hook it up under the hood then you wont have to disconnect your battery. That is what i use for winter time.

yeah, believe me, as a racer, i am a big fan of the battery in the trunk, i just didnt realize that there was no key hole until it was too late, lol. every other car i have had that had keyless entry and trunk release also had a manual trunk release that wasnt IN THE FREAKIN TRUNK!!! lol, i just thought it was humorous and may keep others from having the same issue

This is exactly what I do for winter storage and if I won't be driving the car for over a week or two due to work/vacation. I use Battery Tender Plus.
