Tuning issues
Having issues with getting the ZL-1 tuned. Just installed a BTR stage 2 cam kit and the tuner is telling me I’m having issues with a vacuum leak or air getting in the system after the maf sensor. Current mods are the following besides the cam. ID850 injectors / intake / 2.55 upper pulley and 10% overdrive pulley / longtube headers with catless xpipe / JMF fuel booster. That’s about it and we are tuning with HP tuners.
I’ve smoked tested the lines with zero leakes.. checked for exhaust leakes with none. I’m getting frustrated. Have no idea where to go from here. Below is the log. |

1. Are you running a catch can? If so, how are the hoses routed?
2. Have you done anything with the purge solenoid? 3. Have you done anything with the crankcase evacuation lines (some call PCV) 4. Have you ever removed the throttle body?

Maybe unrelated but why is your IAT2 at 180°?

I am not running a catch can yet but that is my next purchase. I haven’t replaced the solenoid but I have taken it out and checked the o-ring and tested it with 24 volts. Seemed to be okay I could hear the clicking. I’ve sprayed throttle body cleaner on all the PVC lines and did the smoke test and didn’t get any smoke out of the the lines. Took the throttle body off last night again to check the O ring and all looks fine there. That was the only other thing I could think of. IAT’s were way high because I didn’t purge the air out of the system so the intercooler pump went in the fail safe mode. But I have since purged that since the log and all seems good to go. I have noticed when I run the system check in the scanner on hp tuners it’s saying the Evp system is not ready. Read that it should go back to ready if you take the car out and drive it some but it still has not went to ready. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

So please excuse my ignorance, but I cant tell from the screen shot why he thinks there's unmetered air getting in the engine.

If you look at the MAF error circled it’s adding 20% at idle trying to compensate for some kind of leak and it’s only doing it at idle Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Last edited by Jtouch81; 03-24-2024 at 11:46 AM. |

Have you put a running log and the tune up to the HPT forum?

You could carefully use propane to try to find a leak. If the engine rpm rises, the leaked pulled the propane into combustion.
Have you had the blower or lid off?
