2016 ss LIGHTER,MORE POWER HANDELS BETTER

looks like the new 2016 Ss will be lighter, more powerful , and handle better than a 1LE.

I wonder if it's the base SS or the SS w/ MRC that out-handles the 1LE? Either way, this platform is going to be amazing.

MRC will probably be a $3000.00 or $4000.00 option . I have seen Hp quoted as 455 Hp on another announcement . Adios LS hello LT.

interestingly, new 2016 SS has "track mode", and also "track-ready with auxiliary radiator, engine cooler and transmission cooler". I wonder if that means that there will be no more need for special "track-ready 1LE", since SS will be "good enough"...

Hey guys, I did not see anything about the Camaro's handling or a comparison to the 1LE. Did I miss something or is there another article somewhere?

Edit:Never mind fellas I found what I was looking for.

Im sure these cars are good at handling but they can always be better hence why 1le will be an option.

I'm not sure it handles better but more so different. I'm not arguing its not faster around a track than a 1LE but this quote makes me think. Name: image.jpg

Also the fact that they mention the Z/28 ZL1 and 1LE all in this makes me think there will be a 1LE in the coming years.... MRC might be standard on the 1LE who knowsName: image.jpg

Seems like an overall amazing upgrade and great sports car, but this is not a muscle car. I feel it lost its presence. Looks taller and stumpier, the long hood is not as pronounced as the 5th gen and the rear is end looks skinny and tall. You can see they tried to hide the height of the ATS platform to make it look more muscular. I do not think this will drive anything like the 5th gen. 5th gen camaro made you feel like you sat in between the front and rear wheels because it was such a long car. This is shorter and will probably drive like the ATS coupe where it feels like you sit on the front and rear wheels. It gonna be a lot faster than the 5th gen and be a lot more comfortable but be a totally different driving experience.

Don't get me wrong, I think this car is gonna be a track and straight line star, the new ss with a performance package will be more than enough to handle the mustang, probably BMW m4 and may even be neck and neck with the new ATS V.

Remember the new ATSV came with a v6 tt while this will have less luxury so less weight and have that amazing LT1 with magnetic ride. It'll be hard to chose an ATS V coupe over this. if you going to get an ATS V, it'll probably be because you need space and you'll get the sedan.

Couldn't agree more-the height kills it for me. It's going to do everything better for sure, excluding the aesthetic. Keep seeing an RX8 in the profile, the car just doesn't have the aggressive planted edgy look like the current hi po models. With them offering mag ride and heavy duty cooling etc as stand alone options on the SS, and well equipped one's going for close to 50K, I wouldn't hold your breath for a 1LE on a late 16 or 17- i'm sure there will be an F.I. version but IMO you won't see a Z or 1LE anytime soon , if at all.
