I haven’t raced a Chevy ss yet, but I know those things are sleepers for sure. Stock for stock both being auto the Chevy ss has 415 hp and 415 lb ft of tq, but weighs almost 4,000 pounds. The 5th gen camaro ss auto has 400 hp and 410 lb ft of tq and weighs less than the Chevy ss. I would think you would be beating him every time since you are more modified than you dad is with just a rotofab cai.

Thanks for the correction. I always think of the Pontiac G8 when thinking of the SS which was dead when the Camaro arrived. Well, there may have been some stragglers on lots for sale. Your coment makes me realize just how old Zedta is.

Correct both cars are based on Zeta platforms, with Camaro on Zeta 1 and the SS on Zeta 2. The newer Zeta 2 was only available on the Commodore, and the SS in reality is the Commodore SSV Redline with Chevy badges and left hand drive.

For what it's worth, the car is so good I enjoy driving it more than the ZL1. Now only if it were a HSV with the LSA or even better yet LS9 I would be in heaven.

Guys doing a LSA conversion on these is getting to be very common, don't try running one of those.

This is what I thought also. Unless the SS is tuned the camaro should quicker

My previous car was a G8 GT with full bolt-ons and cammed. It was a beast. Chevy Basically took the best parts of that car and made them better. The name was kinda a disappointment though.

Stock the A6 L99 (400 bhp) and the 2015 SS (415 bhp) both have 3.27 gears, the weight difference is almost the same. 3860 vs. 3975 so those are not the reasons, it something else.

I saw a SS that someone had fully outfitted with all the Holden logos and emblems. It was pretty neat seeing that grill.

It really is a sweet car. We're gonna be headed to Ace Performance in a few weeks to get headers on his car and let Ace work his magic. I'm considering pulling the trigger and getting my ride cammed.

I have a 13 Camaro SS L99 and a 2014 SS sedan.

The 415 hp on the SS is BS!!!!!

The SS is much more violent than the Camaro. It’s the same engine as a Camaro LS3 or Vette, which was 430hp with its dual mode exhaust.

The 415hp rating was to not make the vette boys feel bad that a sedan had the same drivetrain as their cars.

If both were stock I'd give the nod to the SS Sedan but with Headers & tune on the L99 I'm surprised its lagging. Weird!
