New Era OTR CAI Review

Got my New Era Performance over the radiator CAI today, the finish is awesome, pics cant do it justice, very high quality and great fit and finish, the powder coating makes it look 100 times better than the raw finish! Its easy to install (about 10 mins), to those worried about the radiator movement, dont be.
The radiator only has about a half inch of movement and it takes a good amount of force to move it, nothing thats going to occur unless you intentionally try to move it. Also dont be worried about sucking water into it, if you get enough water into this baby to cause problems you already have far bigger problems!
It has a very very minor (maybe 25rpms) surge at idle but it really is not noticeable anywhere but on the tach, power is linear with no hesitation anywhere through the power band.
It adds a very nice engine note that sounds great when you go wide open throttle. As far as power, well I dont have any numbers but I can tell you that my car now gets rubber on the 2-3 shift 100% of the time and before the CAI it might do it 10% of the time, so if thats not an indicator of a power gain I dont know what is.
My car is a A6 L99 with a tune (not for the CAI) and SLP LM1 axle back and has 1350 miles on it currently.
This is a very unique hand crafted high quality piece and is well worth the money, this is not some prefab vacumn formed plastic piece that the competition is coming out with, you know the saying, you have to pay to play and you get what you pay for!
Thanks Mike and New Era!

Can't tell from the pics...does it require tilting/moving the radiator? How difficult is the install??

Looks awesome though

the radiator tilts back about 2 inches, honestly installing it is about as difficult as putting gas in the car

I'm not sure dyno' numbers would improve too much, however, I bet that baby would show improvements on the street/highway/track though

Thanks for the pics'. I love pics'. Beautiful car too
