Right, I figured the same. This HU is really compact!

^^^^ You’re making me want to go out and redo mine. I want a radio with an actual volume knob and I want to install a backup camera. Looks like Sony is the only one that has knobs anymore.

I just installed a PAC kit and full depth Kenwood deck. Couldn't quite get it to fit just right and it left a small gap between the bezel and the dash. My plan is to CAREFULLY shave off just a bit of the trim on the PAC bezel to allow it to sit closer. But, I'm gonna have to check out this video you guys are talking about. If there's a better way to make it fit then mayne I'll do that instead.

Much easier to cut some of the plastic out from behind if the depth of your radio requires it.

Later,
Brad

Sorry for the delay!

Due to work, and other projects, it’s taking me longer than I expected. Here’s some pics of why it’s been taking so long. Thanks!

you like the 650? it's nice and thin however i had it for 2 days called alpine about how bad the usb port displays flash drive info and was told it was optimized for android auto and apple, they couldn't help so i returned it.I always wanted a alpine but alpine is not what it was.you only get that 1 back round no dimmer input.the list go's on about the drawbacks, suffice it to say i wouldn't recommend it to anyone.
as much as i try to get away pioneer keeps pulling me back in.
i went with a pioneer.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1
it's leaps and bounds better imo. sounds better, way more adjustment and the user interface is 100% better. plus you can play DVD'S.you can up load picks for custom wallpapers and it has android auto and apple car play.
and the PAC is the only way to go!!! not cheap but the best choice.

Thanks for the info on the Alpine. I keep wanting to swap my Pioneer out because I want a volume knob (I think only Sony has that) but I think I better stick with what I have. I’ve also read the Maestro thread and while I like the idea of the info it provides I just can’t get over the looks of it.

i did not get the Maestro but the option is there.i really like a volume knob also.
this is the first time i haven't had 1.i'm adjusting to no knob.the AVH-2300NEX responds quickly and the ya can set it to mute or attenuate plus the you got steering controls.
my next choice would have been kenwood.
