ProMeth Install (cont.)

All right! Got the ProMeth solenoid installed -- brown/white wire from the AEM Controller is ground, setup a switched 'hot' to the other wire.

Pretty simple -- just removed the 'mechanical' check valve, install solenoid:

Routed hose:

Gauge and solenoid routed and wired up (1 wire is switch hot, the other wire is hooked up to the AEM Brown/White wire - ground):

Trunk is off to get painted! Now just waiting on the wing...

Want to give a shout out to Dave Steck @ DSX Tuning. I was having a 'cold start' issue with > 75% E. Mark and I tweaked the tune a bit but, still not on spot.

I sent Dave my tweaked tune and he added more FA Mult to the time since start (21600 - 43200 range). I did add fuel but, thought it was too rich (in reality, it was not).

Sent it to Dave yesterday, early this morning, done! I uploaded the tune, setup logging, started it and she lit up perfectly!

Major kudos to Dave -- really appreciate his help (and Marks)...

Learn something new about E all the time ;o)

Well, tonight I tested the tune and meth solenoid (48 minute drive with log). Car has been firing right up cold so that is awesome! Mark and I are tweaking the idle areas a bit and, I decided I wanted to turn 'on' LTFTs -- just to see how that is doing.

Car is idling fantastic and driving is just pure fun. Did a few quick 'wot's to verify Meth is working and doing its job -- and of course, it is ;o).

So, will continue tweaking the tune as need. Waiting for Wing and Trunk to get done. Hoping all of that will be completed before CFest! As of right now, does not look like I'll be ready for the any type of 'heavy racing' (like 2 days worth). I should be ok for like a 'half day' -- Maybe I'll be able to get on the track during a break somewhere and give it a whirl -- we'll see if that is possible.

For now, just 'glad' I can drive the car and push it a bit... Rehab is a lot slower than I thought it would be after the ICD implant but, that is to be expected with an 'old' guy ;o)

Tuning Tweaks...

Well, since I had some free time, went ahead and did some tuning tweaks -- Mark (ABADZL1) helped me out while I was making adjustments.

I had a bit of 'richness' in the tune that I wanted to get out, cold starting and, had a 'bucking' at low rpm/neighborhood cruising.

Here they are:

I went ahead and worked the STFTs until I got them really closed then, based on Mark's input, enabled the LTFTs and then adjusted the rest. Really like how the LTFTs look now:

Will need to drive it a bit but, this looks very good. Took over a week to dial this in -- small changes, drive 40 minutes, rinse/repeat...

Mark’s always a big help...

Kinda what it takes to get it there...

Me too on the wing! I wanted to do the road course so bad at NCM this year but wanted to be physically ready for it (not there yet).

I'll be doing a wheel/tool trailer soon to cart wheels etc. I'm finding its a better way to go now that the meth tank is in the trunk.

Have to see if I can weld with this ICD now ;o).

So looking forward to CFest this year!

(Notice I ignored your offer since I'm TWICE as smart ;o)

Glad to hear your recovering sir! Admired your build for little while now. Be interested to see what you do for a trailer, been thinking about this for going to events that require travel as well. Sure would be nice to have tires, tools, and some spare parts with on the road. Undecided how I feel about a trailer though.
Best wishes on your recovery sir!

Thanks! As soon as I figure it out, I’ll document it. h018871 (Geoff) has one and I like how he did it...

Was that the setup pulling camping gear or something like that with? Was probably a year or two ago saw that post. Will have to look it up or wait to see what you come up with perhaps. Not trying to imitate but heard it said that's the sincerest form of flattery

It’s all good. I actually saw Geoff at Cresson and saw the setup. Very nice.

Thanks!
