Need some advice

Hi Fellas-

Long time reader first time poster. I recently purchased a beautiful 2010 SS/RS Camaro. I have decided to play with it a little bit and found a great shop to install as supercharger. I called around and felt that I was given a pretty good price. I have decided to do a few other mods as well, like exhaust, suspension, etc. The prices that I am being given for these additional mods are several hundred dollars higher than what I can get them for through forum sponsors like Maryland Speed, Apex, etc. My question is if its okay for me to purchase these parts elsewhere and bring them in for installation. However, I know you dont bring a steak to a restraunt and ask them to cook it. Any thoughts on my dilemma?

Just ask them for an estimate for just the labor costs. That is what I did with my shop and bought all the items I wanted from other venders.

Id grab a few beers and spend an entire night on here just reading about mods in the V8 sections so youll be aware of what others have done and what they have paid. Dont pay more than you need to when you have a vast array of knowledge RIGHT here for FREE!

Be sure to check with your shop to make sure they will install the parts you bring. I've ordered all the parts for my car and had them installed. This has saved me hundreds of $$$, but you have to make sure your shop is willing to work this way.

Thanks for the advice. I understand that people need to make a profit, but I wanted to be fair to myself as well. I just didnt want to come off as a Dbag by walking in the shop with a bunch of my parts and ask him to install them. I also dont want it to affect the quality of work.

They make money on the labor. It is pretty hard to be angry about getting work.
