SS mailslot on a v6

Just curious, does anyone know how hard it would be to get one of the mailslots from the SS(v8)and put it on a 1LT(v6) camaro?

Not sure if someone could fab that in for you or not. If not you would need to change the front fascia, lower grille, and wheel liners. Figure $600 parts, plus paint and labor. There is another thread about installing an SS fascia on a V6.

Why do people say this? He is not asking for an SS front fascia, he is asking to put the mailslot on the V6 front fascia (see the first Bumblebee). Look closely, the difference is not only the mailslot.

Not hard. You need to purchase an SS front fascia from GM ($300.00) and then cut the mailslot area out and plastic weld it into the V6 front fascia. I did the exact opposite on my SS (removed mailslot on SS fascia). Budget $1,500 if you are using your original V6 fascia.

Considering the mixed opinions pro/con over the mail-slot I'd look to do something different - otherwise you'll get grief from the SS trim guys for trying to look like something the V6 clearly isn't - IMO.

He'd have the same look as the first Bumblebee.

No hate from this SS owner. It's your car, make it your own!

Agreed - he should make the car his own.

My opinion related to the "Camaro-law" regarding SS-related emblems/look wasn't too tolerated on non-SS trims - so I guess a faux mail-slot is OK unless its accompanied by "SS" emblems..

As life is short - if it makes you happy then go for it...

It's your car, do what you want. The easiest way is the change the bumper cover (any other related parts). You could look for a wrecked SS for used parts to save on the cost.

Yes I would never "rice" it up by adding SS emblems on a v6. If I were to get a v6 it would have "RS" emblems already
