Heat.
Look at any Bike.
ceramic/jet coat keeps headers looking clean under hood & moves heat away from engine compartment.

My derby car headers blue..

Part of it was because I was running the engine rich.. If it would of been dusk, people would of seen a nice blue flame coming out of them..

Even if they aren't new, you can send them to jet-hot and get a nice ceramic coating. Pricey, but worth it IMO.

Check it out.

They coat them inside and out by the way. Clears a lot of the heat out from that area of the engine.

These are my coated headers and midpipes. Stil looking like new after several thousand miles. Worth the money. THe coating also cuts down the engine compartment heat a little as well. Jeanius, which headers are installed on your car? They all color some but that is as bad as I have seen and I can understand why you are dissapointed.
