MAX HP forged internal LS3. 2018 edition

Let me start off with what I know. these are for the keyboard warriors.

1. Yes this is a searchable thread but I would like to know what we have learned since 2010.

2. Of course, there are many factors and its complicated. We don't need to hear that.

3. "Depends on the tune"......Really, I am sure its tune dependent. 600 horse is tune dependent so I am sure 1200 is going to be as well.

Ok now in all seriousness. What have people seen out of the stock block? Either Stroker or not with good forged rotating components. Does anyone think 1500 Flywheel can be done?

Could be and should be are different things. If aiming that high, I'd start with an iron block.

Not if, but when I pull the suction restriction plate I will be sitting at 1100 RWHP so if you add back 25% loss from the flywheel then I would be at 1375 flywheel on a stock bottom end so is it possible? Yes, but how may pulls will you get before something lets go is a roll of the dice each time.

Isn’t yours a manual? Good info but I think 25% is steep for that’s setup. Pull that plate and let’s experiment together !

I thought the accepted was 15% for M6 and 20% for autos. I just use 20% regardless when doing math in my head because it is easier.

You know, after thinking about it I am sure you guys are right. It is certainly less for a manual vs an auto, but a loss of 25% is too much for a manual. Honestly, its only a number so its not something I really consider much. I mostly go by sense of acceleration upon a step change in HP and then eventually a time slip but even that doesn't tell all because I suck as a "drag strip specialist" and that's the truth of it. I don't go to the strip often enough to get "good" at it.

Back on topic, when heads start to lift and cranks start to walk, you'll wish you had an iron block with 6 bolt heads.

I have 6 bolt heads, but no iron block. Like Hillshooter . . . maybe someday.

My understanding is they just bolt up, no modifications necessary. I was told these could even be used on a 427 if I choose to go that route later on. I should probably ask more questions but I just want the car to haul azz when I mash the accelerator.

6 bolt heads do nothing on a 4 bolt block.

They look pretty though

1100whp seems to be the limit where aluminum blocks are used

1100 through the auto would be great.
