I personally can attest to this. I've driven over the pass quite a few times in my camaro just with my stock 19's and it handled amazing and when there was a slip, which was rare, stabilitrak picked it right up. However this video is stupid because it truly doesn't even show the handling for more than ten seconds. If the freaking video would actually show a decent length drive, without cutting to to the next camera angle then i might actually believe the video if I hadn't already experienced it. 2 seconds shot of the tires, then the car, then the tires again, then a zoom and move shot, freaking A show it actually driving in the snow if that's what you're trying to prove. For all we know the car could've actually spun out after every 2 second shot, and they just edited it to make it look like it was in control the whole time.

Thanks to the Pirelli Scorpion Ice & Snow tires, my car does great in the snow:
And thanks to almost daily trips to the touch-less car wash she looks pretty good:

Ahhhhh.......black lake (Milford Proving Ground) in the winter! (where the video was shot, I believe......)
Some of you may recall that I spoke about the Camaro's performance in the snow last year right after I got "Thor." He had a set of Pirelli ice and snow tires put on him prior to me picking him up.......I drove to the airport and parked him -- only to come back to 8 inches of snow on the ground - and it was still coming down....... I, too, was somewhat wary -- but even on I-94 (which had not seen a plow yet) - -he handled incredibly well. No - -not like a 4wd Avalanche or Silverado - but very controllable as long as I drove sensibly..... When I got home, the Driveway had not been touched - and he went right up the driveway...... The key to all of this: Do NOT take an SS out in the snow -- if the roads are covered -- unless you put all-seasons or snow tires on your Camaro. The tires on the SS are meant for performance -- not driving in snow. Remember that a Camaro is low to the ground -- if you drive into deep snow, you ARE going to eventually pile snow under the car -- losing traction......

Very good points for any kind of driving on snow an ice. Be SENSIBLE. I'll drive my car all year. But I'm fortunate to be 5 miles from work on a main road. On Monday Lansing MI had a reported 40+ accidents due to weather. I would guess there were a lot of non-sensible drivers that day. I drove pretty sensibly that day, but could not believe how many people I saw driving like crazy. Running red lights? Really?

Most Camaro's are sold with "summer tires" and mandatory heated seats - very strange. If GM is proud of the Camaro's ability with 19" all-season tires then offer them as an option on SS models. I don't go "rasin" so I don't need "racin" tires and their tradeoffs.
