New guy! 1991 Z28 - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

Hi all, just wanted to say hi. I'm 17 and I've loved camaros for a long time. My uncle has a 1982 Z28 that hasn't moved in 12 years and is wrecked, my grandparents had a 1978 camaro from when I was born until 4 years ago, and my parents had a 1980 camaro that we had all my life up until 5 years ago (it was also thrashed, no one kept it up at all).

So when I went to buy my first car I wanted a camaro. I had $3000 in the bank and my parents pitched in $500. I ended up getting this car for $3500. It is a 1991 Z28 with a 305 V8 and single exhaust that goes out to dual in the back. Interior is in perfect condition. I just got this about 3 weeks ago.

dude u are one lucky little bastard lol. im 17, and i got my first car (my camaro) a year ago and i got it for 550 bux. and its in about the worst condition iv ever seen a camaro in. paint is chipped and faded, little dings and scratches everywhere, wiring is screwed up, and lets not forget the giant bashed-in part on the DS 1/4 panel. iv been tryin to restore it, but let me tell ya, i got my work cut out for me lol. u have one nice lookin car there. take care of it!!! lol wen ppl see my car they say "What the hell did u do to it??!!?" and i havent put one little scratch in it since i got it lol. its a fixer upper lol anyway welcome to the sight!!

Very nice, very clean. I loved the 3rd gens. When I was 17 my GF had an 86 IROC. Mucho el funo.

We are planning on painting the hood things a flat black like the areas under the headlights here real soon.

Also, it's dual exhaust in the back but only single from the motor. It sounds amazing, but I think I want to go full dual with it.

Nice blue camaro! Very clean

All of them were like that, I believe even the onse that had the dual cats didnt have true dual exhaust. Good luck fitting true duals under there. I hope you are good with custom piping! My car is a single cat car and sounds very mean. It has flowmaster muffler on it.

I would not paint the hood blisters (thats what they are called) black like the headlight buckets (thats what they are called). Your car is way too nice and in good shape. Keep it original looking. You have one heck of a clean 3rd gen on your hands, don't go junk it up.

Thanks for the compliment on my car. We got it brand new in 1989.

Well if I don't go black for the blisters I'll have to go red because they need to be painted. The clear coast is coming off them and the paint is really faded.

Yeah, my car is doing that all over. The clear and even some of the blue is pealing off. Its pretty annoying. I will get it painted some day. I have a 67 I am working on and w just got a new house and got married and got the 2010 so have less and less desire to put money into it right now... someday.

The car looks great from the pics!
