Camaro not starting when hot

Good morning everyone,

I'm experiencing heat soak for a while but it is extremely random. My car is a Camaro SS Convertible.

We changed the starter, worked great for 5 months and started again the issue. Then we isolated the starter and 5-6 months later here we are again. We also have changed battery, and have wires with bigger section to mass and positive both in trunk and to the starter.

The issue is when the car is hot, you turn it off and wait for some time (15-30 minutes). When I try to start it warm, sometimes it sounds a loud "CLACK" and doesn't start-up. You can try it all the times you want, but you won't get more than that clack. But you leave the car(for a random time too, maybe is 2 hours, maybe 15 minutes) and it starts perfectly.

My workshop now tells me that there is a fall in the tension of the starter...

So what can it be? Thank you very much Im so desperate

Solenoid in the starter fails when hot. This is a common issue on cars with long tube headers since the starter is so close to the heat. To fix mine, we replaced the starter and wrapped it with heat shielding. Has been going strong for 3 years since.

I know a lot of people solved their heat soak issues with a premium aftermarket starter, can't remember the name of the brand they used but it was a much larger starter.

Talking Starting issue

I had the same issue. Changed the starter and put this ground cable on while replacing the starter

Should solve your issue I know it worked for mine

No more slow turn over or not wanting to start

The power master I think it is. Nevertheless, The tension that arrives to the starter has a fall I don't know why
