Not meant to lecture anyone, but . . .
I have not checked, nor do I ever plan to check, the MPG on this car. Not why I bought it. |

We have about 18,700 miles on the car, and it has an 18.2 MPG lifetime average. It is down about 2 MPG from the WS6 that was its predecessor. The majority of its life it has the cruise set between about 60 MPH and upper 70 MPH, but give me good curve or on / off ramp and I will have my fun. It is getting what GM claimed it would get, so I have no complaints.

F*ck me. I fill up two-three times a week and drive 50 miles a day. Used to be once a week in my SS but now with the ZL1 I'm doing 13-15 MPG compared to 18-22 in the SS. Haha. Can't complain though, love my car and the commute is about to be 2.5 miles a day. Can't wait for that

I'm doing about 16-18 depending on what my drives look like. It's definitely more of an expense, but I knew that going in. 6.2L V8 track car... it will use da gas.

I must be too easy on mine. I'm getting 20.8 mpg @ 6900 miles. I put an intake on at around 3500 miles and it went from 19.5 to 20.8 so that's pretty nice.

My SS gets 21MPG average after 10k miles.... It's not a 1LE so the gear ratio is different though

Why the fuel mileage comes as a shock to anyone is beyond me . It is what it is ,and aggressive driving makes it worse. The price of fuel will continue to rise and your dollar is worth less and less every day . If you want to play you got to pay . Look at it as a cost of having fun and just enjoy it or trade it on a Prius .

I averaged 17 last time i saw it, my 18 mile commute to work is half highway, I think watching the needle move while driving is the worst part of it.

The only final drive ratios that are different are 2, 3 and 4. 1, 5 and 6 are nearly identical, so highway mileage does not differ between a standard SS and a 1LE. The difference could come from extended cruising in 3 and 4.

Paul my friend, some people spend $300k on a Ferrari, pay $5k to maintain it every 3k miles, and get 9mpg. You spent $40k and smile every time you start it up I bet. Plus, you don't have to wear tight, coral colored shorts to fit in with other tight, coral colored short wearing Ferrari owners. Take the good with the bad sir, it could be worse.
