Grill Delete Question

Have you done it? Remove the upper and lower grills? I'm not sure if there is an official name for it other than a Grill Delete. Seems fairly easy to do. Front fascia comes off then remove the grills. I realize the possibility of taking a rock or road debris to my radiator, trans cooler or A/C condenser....I just think the look of a Non-Grilled Z/28 would look kinda cool in a rugged kind of way, plus a little more direct Air won't hurt either.

Mustangs have cut out or open Grills.

What do you all think?

Interesting concept. Wonder if anyone will post pictures.

Curious what that would look like myself. But I’m imagining not many people have done this as I’ve never seen it and I’m sprays checking pictures of peoples Camaro they post in threads.

You run the risk of clogging the radiator cooling fins with bugs.

Dear serious! If you don`t think that can`t happen then go ahead and remove your grill and see how long before your radiator has bugs lodged between the cooling fins and better yet what a pain in the ass it is trying to clean it out so your engine doesn`t start running hotter than it should! When you wash you car did you ever notice the bug hits on your grill, take a look at your radiator I`ll guarantee you that you have quite a few bugs lodged in the cooling fins that managed to get by the grill!

I wouldn't remove the lower grill because it would look stupid that way on a Camaro IMO. Removal of the upper grill might not be bad, but I'd definitely run a heavy duty screen across the radiator to protect it against larger rocks, bugs and debris that could get in there.

In Washington where I live, I dont have any bugs that are over an inch in height therefore all of the bugs can already go through my grill.

The grills or bumper inserts are part of the structural integrity. If you do something like that it might be best to cut up an old grill to look open but help hold the bumper together as your speeding down the road at 75 mph’s. Had to laugh at the grill stopping bugs comment. Someone has not looked at their radiator lately.

Just looks incomplete to me. It definitely helps with the structural integrity of the bumper though. I just changed to a heritage grille was a pain in the ass the bumper is more flexible than the grille lol.
