They're not noticeable on Ashen Gray unless the car is sparkling clean and going slow or stopped in the sun; they do look great though when visible ...also less places for rocks to hit and chip your paint.
AGM is very close to black so if you have it shining any flat black will be noticeable, I'll go take a pic of mine in that area and post it in a minute:

Dirty, from driving in the rain (proof Camaros don't melt in the rain) but you get the idea, almost the same colour.

If you get the shiny black ones that are "C" shaped and designed to fit around the outside of the slot, they'd be more immediately noticeable.

Thanks DCC & powerslave

Since you have an AGM, pics would really help me make up my mind. I really like the SLP faded ones. Thanks.

My car is Ashen Gray. My quarter gills stripes are flat black from GM.
...though my car usually looks the colour of my sig... it depends on the time of day, the phase of the moon, the tides etc what colour Ashen Gray will look like on any given day. From lightish grey all the way to black.

It's one of those things when people get in it the car the first time, or inspect the car up close for the first time they usually always comment on them like "Oh that's really cool, I didn't notice those until now" If that's not what you want, and you want them to stick out, don't get flat ones with Ashen Gray haha.

By the way, viewed your garage to check out your ride, but couldnt see the pic (sometimes my ipad does that). I did notice that you were contemplating the 4 pk gauges. That was the first thing I added and and man, what a difference! I highly recommended it, especially from gmpartshouse...$319, shipped.

Got some blurry pics there:

Need to take some better ones when I finish powdering my wheels.

(..and as I was saying earlier... looked black that day, in full sunlight, unpredictable colour)

Love the color and the stripes give it a great subte look! Mine is AGM too and so far, I'm very happy with color choice. And I'm with you on the subtle look! Heck, I just did the flat black emblem overlay too!

Thanks for the pix...car looks great. Think I'll wait on the gills....need to get more bang fr my bucks first! Lol

Indeed, it's almost invisible haha Cheers. Glad I could help.

Unrelated but... the floor mats I bought at the time(when I bought the gill inserts) are cool and man are they thick, like 1/2" thick, all weather mats that say CAMARO on them. They're pretty sweet. I drive in any weather, location, etc. so I needed a little more protection for my carpets
