Seriously considering trading in for a manual......

Here are the facts: I currently own (paid in full) a 2011 1SS L99. The car only has 1600mi on it. I know how to drive stick (only reason I got the auto was because the car was originally supposed to be my DD). However, things have changed and now I'm seriously yearning for a manual.

The only factor in my decision is trade in value. If I could do a trade and not lose any money, I'd do it in a heartbeat. Unfortunately, this is the real world and I'm probably gonna take a nice hit, and the longer I wait, the bigger the hit.

So how much do you think I'd lose on this? Btw, I'd be going to another 1SS, not the 2.

Have you thought about sending a PM to one of the dealers here to see what they'd give you on trade.

But I agree, with the low miles you have... and the value the camaro gets used... You should be sitting pretty good. I'd say less than a 5k loss...

I'd say between 3-5k.

Do you feel it's really worth it?

sell it privately for sure...you will take a bath at the dealership..wish i hadn't bought my 1LT last month I would have taken your car for 30k in a heartbeat..1600 miles is super low

Good point on the dealers here. But how would that work?

Yea, I'm still thinking whether I'm 100% sure or not.

I bet you can easily find a similar year used 1SS with likely more miles than yours in a manual that won't take more than $2k-$3k out of your pocket to do a trade...maybe even less! Remember, your auto 1SS cost more than a manual, yours is very low mile car and likely still in brand new shape, and the auto which cost more. The auto would be an easier sell for the dealer.

you can order a new car from any dealer and they can drop ship it to the dealer of your choice.

I know Becky@rodgerscevrolet (MI) worked a sweet deal for PQ on a used C6 Vette and they traded in a lexus from AL...

I think the used LS3 is a decent option also... You could very easily break even if you went used for used. Dealers could can search the entire country for used 1SS LS3's

I can only offer advice about the $$ side of it. In Texas the sales tax is ~6%. It's also only paid on the Difference of the selling price minus the trade-in value. using the numbers of what you paid before 35,000 is $2100 tax, IF you got 30k trade & bought at the same price you'd save $1800 more in taxes since you would only pay tax on $5K ($300). Just something to keep in mind.
